Official statement of the General House of the FSSPX
Menzingen, on February 19, 2007

http://www.laportelatine.org/accueil/accueil.php

Unofficial translation to English:

The Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X has the painful duty to announce the painful news of the death of Father Bruno ISENMANN, which has occurred yesterday, around 1 p.m., at the 50 years age.

Fr. Isenmann, who was in Namibia with his fellow-member Fr. Huysegems, was on holiday at the invitation of the faithful and at the same time for the blessing of a marriage of a former pupil of the school of Diestedde where they were both professors.

During a displacement in the car Fr. Huysegems, who led, lost the control of the vehicle which flipped over several times. Our fellow-member died a few moments after the accident whereas its driver is only slightly wounded.

He had been born on August 27, 1956 and had been ordered priest on July 1, 1989.

Each priest has to celebrate at least one mass for the rest of the soul of our dear late fellow-member.

A Prayer for a Departed Priest

O God, Thou didst raise Thy servant, N., to the sacred priesthood of Jesus Christ, according to the Order of Melchisedech, giving him the sublime power to offer the Eternal Sacrifice, to bring the Body and Blood of Thy Son Jesus Christ down upon the altar, and to absolve the sins of men in Thine own Holy Name. We beseech Thee to reward his faithfulness and to forget his faults, admitting him speedily into Thy Holy Presence, there to enjoy forever the recompense of his labors. This we ask through Jesus Christ Thy Son, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer excerpted from Schouppe, Father F.X., Purgatory: Explained by the Lives and Legends of the Saints. Rockford: TAN, 1991. "Appendix 3: Prayers for the Poor Souls", 413-427. Imprimatur, Nihil Obstat

Prayer for a Deceased Priest

Among Your apostolic priests, O God, You honored Your servant, Fr. Isenmann, with the priestly dignity. Grant too, to number him always in their company. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

DE PROFUNDIS

Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice.
Let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.
If Thou, O Lord, shalt observe iniquities; Lord, who shall endure it?
For with Thee there is merciful forgiveness:
and by reason of Thy law, I have waited for Thee, O Lord.
My soul hath relied on His word; my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
From the morning watch even until night, let Israel hope in the Lord.
Because with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him plentiful redemption.
And He shall redeem Israel from all her iniquities.
Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.

Let us pray.
O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful,
grant to the souls of Thy servants departed the remission of all their sins, that through our pious supplication they may obtain that pardon which they have always desired; who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

Let's keep this one near the top; we'll want to remember to put this into the weekly AQ Rosary prayer request thread.

"Any soul who cry's out to Our Blessed Mother shall be helped."

Grant unto Fr Isenmann, we pray thee oh Lord, that he may be eternally in thy Mother's presence. That however close to thee he may have merited to stand in heaven, by the carring of his priestly cross, he be granted even a higher place still by virtue of his closeness to thy dearest Mother, and bless us by his favored intercessions and an increase in vocations to carry on thy Holy work in his stead. In Jesus name. Amen.

Please remember to pray for the driver of the car as well, Fr. Koenrad Huysegems, SSPX. Imagine how difficult this must be for him! He is a young priest, ordained in 2002.

Let us pray for him to be able to carry this very difficult cross without stumbling from the weight of it... He must be feeling so horrible, and if he cannot handle these emotions he will be caught up in depression, guilt, regrets, etc... The SSPX can't lose 2 priests over this! Good Priests are the most valuable possession we have on earth, besides the Eucharist.

Fr. Isenmann was blessed to have a fellow priest with him when he died, for absolution and prayers for the dying. It was a sudden, but not an unprovided for death. Father Isenmann had just offered Sunday Mass, and his last sermon was on the Epistle to the Corinthians about Charity.

Photos of Fr. Isenmann's funeral...
Unsurprisingly, the Catholic Church at his home-town (where he was buried) refused to let them use their church, so they had to rent an ugly hall...

Link to funeral description, giving a summary of the funeral sermon. Unfortunately, Google's automatic translation of the German is pretty flawed, but you can get the general idea.

Rev. Fr. Isenmann's own home parish church, which is served Γ‘nd owned by Capuchins, could not be used as the local priests (OMCap) refused the SSPX to use their church for a traditional Requiem Mass. The local bishop had allowed the Requiem to be said in the parish church and even the mayor of his home town Nordrach in the beautiful scenic Schwarzwald area, had demanded it. But the Capuchins, modernists these days, refused with all their radicalism. Remember, that in his early days in the 1960s and later on, Father had been an altar boy Γ‘nd a skilled organ musician always ready to serve his parish church. Yet they refused the best of their sons to be buried from the same church. Therefore Father had to be buried in a gymnastics hall converted into a chapel.

Over 1,200 persons attended his funeral. The mayor took care however that Isenmann was buried at the honorary part of the parish grave yard underneath the large communal Cross where also other priests were buried in the past centuries.
