Feast of Corpus Christi, novena May 22-30

( Mention intentions here)

With that profound humility which the Faith itself inspires in me,
O My God and Savior Jesus Christ, true God and true man,
I love Thee with all my heart and I adore Thee Who art hidden here,
in reparation for all the irreverence, profanations and sacrileges which Thou receives in the most adorable Sacrament of the Altar.

I adore Thee, O My God, if not so much as Thou art worthy to be adored nor so much as I am bound to do,
yet as much as I am able; would that I could adore Thee with that perfect worship which the Angels in Heaven are enabled to offer Thee.
May Thou, O My Jesus, be known, adored, loved and thanked by all men at every moment in this most holy and divine Sacrament.

Our Lady, Help of Christians: novena May 15-23

NOVENA TO OUR LADY, HELP OF CHRISTIANS

MOST holy and immaculate Virgin Mary, our most tender Mother and powerful Help of Christians,
we dedicate ourselves entirely to thy sweet love and holy service.
We consecrate in thee our minds with all their thoughts, our hearts with all their affections,
our bodies with all their senses and powers,
and we promise to desire always to work for the greater glory of God and for the salvation of souls.

Meanwhile thou, O incomparable Virgin, who hast always been the Help of the Christian people,
continue to show thyself such, especially in these days. Humble the enemies of our holy religion, frustrate their evil purposes.
Enlighten and strengthen bishops and priests, and keep them ever united in obedience to the Pope,
their infallible master. Preserve incautious youth from irreligion and vice.
Promote holy vocations, increase the number of God’s ministers,
that by means of them the kingdom of Jesus Christ may be preserved among us, and extended to the farthest boundaries of the earth read more

Novena to St. Rita May 13-21

O holy patroness of those in need, St. Rita,
whose pleadings before thy Divine Lord are almost irresistible,
who for thy lavishness in granting favors has been called the Advocate of the Hopeless
and even of the Impossible.
St. Rita, so humble, so pure, so mortified,
so patient and of such compassionate love for thy Crucified Jesus
that thou could obtain from Him whatever thy asked,
on account of which all confidently have recourse to thee,
expecting, if not relief, at least comfort.
Be propitious to our petition, showing thy power with God on behalf of thy suppliant.
Please be generous with us, as thou has been in so many wonderful cases,
for the greater glory of God, for the spreading of devotion to thee,
and for the consolation of those who trust in thee.
We promise, if our petition is granted, to glorify thee by making known thy favor,
to bless and sing thy praises forever.
Relying on thy merits and power before the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we pray read more

Come, Holy Spirit, Creator blest,
and in our souls take up Thy rest;
come with Thy grace and heavenly aid
to fill the hearts which Thou hast made.

O comforter, to Thee we cry,
O heavenly gift of God Most High,
O fount of life and fire of love,
and sweet anointing from above.

Thou in Thy sevenfold gifts are known;
Thou, finger of God’s hand we own;
Thou, promise of the Father,
Thou Who dost the tongue with power imbue. read more

May dedicated to Our Lady

For Sunday
MOTHER of my God, look down upon a poor sinner, who has recourse to thee and puts his trust in thee. I am not worthy that thou shouldst even cast thine eyes upon me; but I know that thou, beholding Jesus thy Son dying for sinners, dost yearn exceedingly to save them. O Mother of Mercy, look on my miseries and have pity upon me. Men say thou art the refuge of the sinner, the hope of the desperate, the aid of the lost; thou art, then, my refuge, hope and aid. It is thy prayers which must save me. For the love of Jesus Christ be my help; reach forth thy hand to the poor fallen sinner who recommends himself to thee. I know that it is thy joy to aid the sinner when thou canst; help me now, for thou canst help me. By my sins I have forfeited the grace of God and my own soul. I place myself in thy hands; oh, tell me what to do that I may regain the grace of God, and I will do it. My Saviour bids me to come to thee for help; He wills that I should look to thy pity; that so, not only the merits of thy Son, but thine own prayers, too, may unite to save me. To thee, then, I have recourse: pray to Jesus for me; and make known the great good thou canst do for one who trusts in thee. Be it done unto me according to my hope. Amen.

Novena to Saint Monica. Apr. 25- May 3.

O exemplary mother of the great St. Augustine, you perseveringly pursued your wayward son,
not with wild threats but with prayerful cries to Heaven.
Intercede for all mothers today,
that they may learn to draw their children to God.
Teach them to remain close to their children,
even the prodigal sons and daughters who have sadly gone astray.

Dear St. Monica, troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime,
yet you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence and profound faith,
you obtained the conversions of your beloved husband
Patricius and your beloved son, Augustine. read more

Feast of the Annunciation Novena. March 31-April 8

I greet thee, ever-blessed Virgin, Mother of God, Throne of Grace, miracle of Almighty Power!
I greet thee, sanctuary of the Most Holy Trinity and Queen of the Universe, Mother of Mercy and Refuge of sinners.

Most loving Mother, attracted by thy beauty and sweetness, and by thy tender compassion, I confidently turn to thee,
miserable as I am, and beg of thee to obtain from thy Dear Son the favor I request in this novena:

Mention you request here

Obtain for me also, O Queen of Heaven, the most lively contrition for my many sins
and the grace to imitate closely those virtues which thou practiced so faithfully,
especially humility, purity and obedience.
Above all, I beg thee to be my Mother and Protectress, to receive me into the number of thy devoted children,
and to guide me from thy high throne of glory. read more

Easter poem (Awesome)

Limbo
by Sister Mary Ada

The ancient greyness shifted
Suddenly and thinned
Like mist upon the moors
Before a wind.
An old, old prophet lifted
A shining face and said:
“He will be coming soon.
The Son of God is dead;
He died this afternoon.”

A murmurous excitement stirred
All souls.
They wondered if they dreamed –
Save one old man who seemed
Not even to have heard.

And Moses, standing,
Hushed them all to ask
If any had a welcome song prepared.
If not, would David take the task?
And if they cared
Could not the three young children sing
The Benedicite, the canticle of praise
They made when God kept them from perishing
In the fiery blaze? read more

February The Month of the Holy Family

A Prayer to The Holy Family, for One’s Children

O Jesus, only-begotten Son of the Eternal Father, well-beloved Son of the Blessed Virgin and foster Child of St. Joseph, we most fervently implore Thee, through Mary Thine ever-blessed Mother and St. Joseph Thy foster father, take our children under Thy special charge and enclose them in the love of Thy Sacred Heart. They are the children of Thy Father in Heaven, created after His own image; they are Thy possession, for Thou hast purchased them with Thy Precious Blood; they are temples of the Holy Ghost, who sanctified them in Baptism and implanted in their hearts the virtues of faith, hope and charity. read more

Novena for Feast of the Circumcision Dec 23- 31

Most Bountiful God, I sincerely and humbly thank Thee for all of Thy many benefits to me during the past year, and for the privilege of beginning a new year. Do Thou mercifully continue Thy gracious help and protection, so that I may not only spend this coming year in Thy service, but also may increase from day to day in fervor and in the performance of good works. May all my thoughts, words and actions be for Thy greater honor and glory, for my own sanctification and for the good of souls. These favors I ask from Thy goodness through the merits of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Who for our salvation first shed His Precious Blood on this day. Amen read more
