The chances of chaos in the streets and violent clashes across the country just rose considerably

As recently as yesterday morning, I said that I couldn’t foresee America descending into a full-blown civil war. I may have to slightly amend that statement. The retirement of Justice Kennedy and the very real (though far from certain) possibility that Roe could be overturned changes the equation somewhat. I still can’t imagine a civil war along the lines of the first one — two sides, complete with uniforms, meeting for organized combat on the battlefield — but I think that the chances of chaos in the streets and violent clashes across the country just rose considerably.

Abortion is the Left’s high sacrament. It has built its entire movement upon this bloody altar. With abortion, it claims a godlike power over life and death. Leftists, through abortion, make life itself relative to their whims and desires. Life begins whenever the mother wants it to begin, the Left proclaims. And oh, what power! Who would claim such power and then give it up willingly? Especially when this power protects and fortifies your hassle-free, responsibility-free, consequence-free sex life. To give up abortion is to give up power, to give up convenience, to give up relativism, to give up your self-centered approach to sex and life in general. The Left will not go gently into that good night. They will rage, and rage, and rage, against the dying of the light.

What will their raging consist of? I don’t know. I fear that it could be quite violent. History has shown that the oppressors will rarely retreat from their oppression peacefully. They would much rather kill and destroy to reestablish their superiority and the way of life that was made so much easier by that superiority. Will the same thing happen here? Perhaps.

  1. Nearly a Third of Americans Fear Civil War in Next 5 Years

Polling and recent events point to threat of the radical Left

    by David Nussman • • June 27, 2018

DETROIT ( – Many Americans fear that radical leftists are threatening society, with as many as a third of the population concerned civil war will break out within the next few years.

A Rasmussen poll conducted June 21 and June 24 found that 59 percent of Americans are concerned that opponents of President Donald Trump may resort to violence. The statistics, published Wednesday, indicate that 26 percent are “somewhat concerned” and an additional 33 percent are “very concerned.”

A somewhat smaller number, some 53 percent of the 1,000 people polled, expressed concern about Trump supporters becoming violent in response to the mainstream media’s biased coverage of the president.

Meanwhile, 31 percent of Americans, according to Rasmussen, fear that the United States might experience a second civil war in the next five years. Eleven percent said it is “very likely,” and 20 percent deemed civil war “somewhat likely.”

The release of these results comes one day after the Republican Party published a video called “The Left in 2018: Unhinged.” The audio track opens with Bernie Sanders declaring triumphantly, “A few years ago, ideas that we talked about were thought to be fringe ideas, radical ideas, extremist ideas. Those ideas are now mainstream.”

The video alludes to Antifa violence and highlights the increasingly divisive and insulting rhetoric from leftists in Hollywood.

Featured in the video is the infamous photo shoot in May 2017 where comedian Kathy Griffin posed holding the severed head of President Trump. There is also a clip from a music video by rapper Snoop Dogg which shows him shooting and killing a clown-like stand-in for Trump.

The GOP video shows Democratic congresswoman Maxine Waters calling on her supporters to verbally harass Trump cabinet members whenever they see them “at a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station.”

Waters told her supporters to “push back,” instructing, “And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore anywhere.”

The congresswoman gave her divisive comments at a protest rally on June 23 opposing the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

President Trump responded in a tweet Monday, calling Waters “an extraordinarily low-IQ person” and saying she and Nancy Pelosi together present the “Face of the Democratic Party.”

Waters’ inflammatory comments were alluding to an earlier incident where White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was denied service at a restaurant.

On June 22, Sanders was asked to leave Red Hen in Lexington, Virginia because she works for the Trump administration.

Sanders commented the next day on Twitter: “Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me.”

In a piece for The Stream dated Tuesday, William Briggs referred to America’s political tension as “Our (So Far) Cold Civil War.” Briggs noted the mudslinging from both sides and pointed out that leftists are more likely than conservatives to insult those they disagree with.

As an example of increasing radicalization with the Democratic Party, a 28-year-old socialist recently won a Democratic primary in New York.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez beat incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley in the New York primary elections on Tuesday. It was a surprising upset for New York’s 14th Congressional District.

Crowley was eyed to be Nancy Pelosi’s successor as the minority leader in the U.S. House of Representatives. With Crowley out, it is now unclear who will replace Pelosi.

Some commentators say Ocasio-Cortez’s victory is a symptom of the Democratic Party becoming more radical. John Fund wrote on Wednesday for Fox News, “Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez insist that their once radical positions are becoming mainstream. But what about in the political world outside their left-wing bubble communities?”

Ocasio-Cortez says she hopes former reality TV star Cynthia Nixon will have a similar victory against incumbent New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The Democratic Socialists of America were crucial in organizing Ocasio-Cortez’s grassroots campaign, which spent only $300,000 — in contrast with opponent Crowley’s $3 million campaign.

Shocking Poll: 62% View Planned Parenthood Abortion Business Favorably, Including Christians and Pro-Lifers

A shocking new poll from Gallup indicates strong public support for the abortion giant Planned Parenthood.

The poll found a full 62 percent of American view the billion-dollar abortion “non-profit” favorably, the strongest supporters being women and young adults.

But the poll also found that 52 percent of people who attend religious services at least once a month view the abortion chain favorably, while 43 percent do not. Even 36 percent of people who identify as pro-life said they have a favorable opinion of Planned Parenthood, according to the poll.

The strongest opposition comes from Republicans, 63 percent of whom view the abortion giant unfavorably.

    Gallup commented on the data:

The nation has been nearly evenly divided on the issue of abortion in Gallup polling in recent years, with less than a majority identifying as either “pro-choice” or “pro-life” each time the question has been asked since 2009. But Planned Parenthood, though prominently identified with the pro-choice side of the debate, is viewed favorably by majorities of most major demographic groups — including men and women, all age groups, all levels of education and all income levels.

Notably, however, Planned Parenthood’s favorable rating “is down sharply from the two times it was measured more than two decades ago, when roughly eight in 10 viewed it favorably,” according to the polling group.

The biggest shift happened within political parties. While Democrats’ favorable opinion of Planned Parenthood has not changed much in the past two decades, Republicans’ and independents’ opinions have changed drastically.

    According to the polling group:

In the 1993 poll, more than two-thirds (69%) of Republicans had a favorable opinion of Planned Parenthood, along with 83% of independents and 91% of Democrats. By 2015, Gallup polling showed only 35% of Republicans with a favorable view, and favorable views among independents had dropped to 56%. Among Democrats, there was a smaller decline to 82%. Now Democrats are almost back to the 1993 level at 89%, while the views of Republicans and independents have not changed significantly over the past three years.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion chain in America, aborting about 320,000 unborn babies every year. Its most recent annual report showed a record income of $1.46 billion, with about half a billion dollars coming from taxpayers.

In the past 10 years, the abortion chain saw huge drops in patient numbers and actual health services and scandal after scandal involving aborted baby body parts harvesting, sexual abuse cover-ups, Medicaid fraud and more. The U.S. Department of Justice currently is investigating whether Planned Parenthood illegally sold aborted baby body parts. Meanwhile, its abortion numbers and taxpayer funding increased.

The abortion giant operates a huge, well-funded communications department that constantly crafts new ways to draw attention away from its deadly abortion business. This coupled with multi-million dollar donations from some of the richest old white men in the world and massive political donations have helped the abortion chain stay afloat.

  3. Ultimately, ALL of this is directly traceable to failures under Pius XI & XII to honor Heaven’s requests at Fatima, Pontaverda and Tuy. As well, there would have been no WW II, no Korean War, no Vietnam War, no Maoist reign of terror over China, etc.
Instead, by playing kick the can, both popes and their 6 Modernist successors allowed every last one of those events to come to pass.

  4. Its more complicated than it seems. The Christian Right has been losing ground year after year because the charity is a virtue that the Left never shares.. Charity is a strength when tempered by Justice. And Catholics have been taught by the mainstream hierarchy, that any firmness or Sense of moral outrage or Justice is a lack of Charity. Our own Pope and bishops condemn us when we show any sign of wanting to fight back. Yes, there wil be civil war, but only one-sided. “They will beat you in Courts and Synagogues on My account”. It would be a martyrdom. Unless, a nonChristian Right with no scruples of conscience, such a would organize as a force. But that would create other problems…
