Cdl. Burke: ‘I don’t believe it’s true that we’re all worshiping the same God’

Many Church leaders push the narrative that Islam is a religion of peace and Muslims worship the same God as Christians do.

Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watchtold Church Militant on June 5, “The Catholic Church under Pope Francis is committed to the idea that Islam is a religion of peace and that Catholics should welcome the Muslim migrant influx into Europe.”

Willing to debunk this false narrative, Cdl. Raymond Burke, former prefect of the Vatican’s highest court, the Apostolic Signatura, in 2016 referenced the Christian battles with Muslims at Lepanto in 1571 and Vienna in 1683 saying, “These historical events relate directly with the situation of today. There’s no question that Islam wants to govern the world.”

The recent disruption by a Muslim man at a Pentecost Mass in France is but one example. This isn’t an anomaly, according to Cdl. Burke. He said in 2016 he doesn’t think that Muslims worship the God of the Christians:

I don’t believe it’s true that we’re all worshipping the same God because the God of Islam is a governor. In other words, fundamentally, Islam is, Sharia is their law, and that law, which comes from Allah, must dominate every man eventually. And it’s not a law that’s founded on love.

Commenting specifically on the Islamic issues in France in 2017, Cdl. Burke explained, “These things aren’t anomalies for Islam. This is the way things are to go. If you do understand that and you are not at peace with the idea of being forcibly under an Islamic government, then you have reason to be afraid.”
