Catholic priest who is Courage International associate director and ministers to homosexuals: God doesn’t make anyone homosexual

May 24, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Scores of LGBT activists, some of them Catholic, have praised Pope Francis for allegedly saying God “made” certain people to be homosexual. At the same time, however, a Catholic priest and director of a ministry to same-sex attracted persons, has posted a video rebuttal to the ‘God made you gay’ argument.

Over the weekend, Chilean church abuse victim Juan Carlos Cruz saidthat the pope told him in a recent meeting, “that you are gay does not matter. God made you like this […] You have to be happy with who you are.” The Vatican has refused to confirm, deny, or clarify the quote, citing the privacy of one-on-one papal audiences. read more

The pope has issued “new guidelines” for contemplative nuns, and it has set off every one of my alarms, long, loud and terrifying as an air raid siren. It is possibly one of the most sinister things I’ve seen coming from Bergoglio thus far, but I think few people will understand how serious it is or could be. read more

Pope: Be ‘Spiritually United’ with Chinese Catholics by Stephen Wynne  •  ChurchMilitant.com  •  May 24, 2018

VATICAN CITY (ChurchMilitant.com) – Pope Francis is calling faithful across the world to be “spiritually united” with Chinese Catholics.

On Thursday, the Pontiff dedicated morning Mass at the Casa Santa Marta to the “noble Chinese people” who, he acknowledged, are enduring many “difficulties.”

May 24, the Feast of Mary Help of Christians, is celebrated in China as the Feast of Our Lady of Sheshan. It is a special day for Chinese Catholics. In 2008, Pope Benedict XVI proclaimed May 24 the World Day of Prayer for the Church in China, composing a special prayer through the intercession of Our Lady of Sheshan. read more

FRANKENPOPE ON SODOMY AS A GOD-GIVEN GIFT: FLAT. OUT. WRONG. A fallible, personal opinion

[FRANKENPOPE ON SODOMY AS A GOD-GIVEN GIFT] FLAT. OUT. WRONG. A fallible, personal opinion [Good but not perfect on Mikey’s part: He cannot outrightly and decisively criticize FrankenPope but puts most of the blame on the papal minions – whom he specifically appointed for their opinions! – AQ Tom]  the Vortex – May 24, 2018

TRANSCRIPT

The man who is the current pope is wrong in his very personal, very fallible opinion presented as a mere man, and not as Pope. God does not make people gay, and such a person is not born that way.

Jorge Bergoglio is wrong.

Now again, given the circumstances of a person repeating to the press what he said the pope said, we have to presume the victim of a long ago assault by a homosexual priest was not lying when he said the pope said God makes people gay and loves them that way. If Bergoglio the man — not Francis the Pope — did indeed say that, then the gay-controlled Vatican has a moral duty and obligation to come out and deny either that he said it or that was not what he meant. read more

US bishops’ pro-life chair Archbishop Naumann defends denying Communion to pro-abortion politicians

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 24, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – The incoming head of the U.S. bishops’ pro-life efforts defended denying Communion to pro-abortion politicians, saying they need to be held to “accountability.”

Kansas City Archbishop Joseph Naumann said this to EWTN before the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast. He explained that when Kathleen Sebelius – later one of the architects of the HHS contraception mandate – was the governor of Kansas, she persistently supported abortion while claiming to be Catholic. read more

Catholic teaching ‘a perfect antidote’ to our cultural crisis: U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 24, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Catholic social teaching and its “vision of dignity and possibility” is “a perfect antidote to what ails our culture,” Speaker of the House Rep. Paul Ryan, R-WI, told the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast this morning.

Ryan, who is not running for re-election, blasted the moral relativism that is “becoming more and more pervasive in our culture.”

“Identity politics and tribalism have grown on top of this,” he said. The solution to this, which is exacerbated by technology, is Catholic social teaching. read more

Archbishop Naumann blasts ‘new paganism’ and ‘denial of truth’ at Washington prayer breakfast

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 24, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – “Non-religious ‘spiritualism’ is the new paganism,” Kansas City Archbishop Joseph Naumann told the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast this morning.

Naumann, the incoming chair of the U.S. bishops’ pro-life committee, said our culture is “experiencing a crisis of faith that leads to denial of truth.”

He listed as major problems today school shootings, international tensions and conflicts, and the fact that “one third of American children are being raised in homes without their biological fathers.” read more

Bishop declares: ‘The dirty game in Nicaragua is over [but not the crisis with Presidente/Comandante Ortega]!’  Catholic World News – 5/24/18 Editor’s Note: “The peace we are looking for is not the peace of cemeteries, nor that of subjugated slaves,” said the bishop who serves as spokesman for Church-brokered talks between the government and opposition in Nicaragua. Daniel Ortega—the leftist Sandinista leader who overthrew the Somoza regime in 1979, and subsequently led Nicaragua from 1979-1990, and again since 2007—now faces significant student protests against his own repressive regime.

ON WHAT IS GENERATED BY THE HUMAN INTELLECT

New Oxford Review, May 2018 – By James V. Schall

“Science is chiefly an act generated by the human intellect, not by the human will or emotions.” — Peter Redpath, A Not-So-Elementary Christian Metaphysics

“Specifically criticizing Protagoras, for saying nothing while pretending to say something remarkable in his dictum, ‘man is the measure of all things,’ Aristotle maintained that, strictly speaking, human knowledge and perception ‘are measured,’ they do not ‘measure other things.’” — Peter Redpath, A Not-So-Elementary Christian Metaphysics read more

Report: Pope concerned that Chilean bishops may have entrusted seminaries to ‘priests suspected of active homosexuality’

Report: Pope concerned that Chilean bishops may have entrusted seminaries to ‘priests suspected of active homosexuality’  Catholic World News – 5/24/18 Editor’s Note: At the conclusion of the Pope’s meetings with Chilean bishops last week, the Vatican released a brief letter to Chile’s bishops. Il Sismografo—whose editorial director is a Chilean journalist who once worked for Vatican Radio—has published what purports to be the full text of a May 15 letter from the Pope to Chile’s bishops. In footnote 25, Pope Francis reportedly referred to “serious accusations against some bishops or superiors who are believed to have entrusted these educational institutions to priests suspected of active homosexuality.”

FrankenPope’s cunning long game

FrankenPope’s cunning long game

Damon Linker – May 23, 2018 Pope Francis’ stealth reform of the Roman Catholic Church shows no sign of slowing down — and may even be accelerating.

Stealth is key here. If the pope had declared earlier this month that henceforth the Roman Catholic Church would authoritatively teach that homosexuals should be happy being gay, that God made them homosexual, and that God himself (along with the pope) loves them just the way they are, it would have been a massive story in the history of Catholicism — and one that quite likely would have precipitated a major schism, with conservative bishops and priests (mainly in North America and Africa) formally breaking from Rome. read more

Priests of the archdiocese of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, have been suspended “only” for informing Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga of “immoral acts” of his auxiliary bishop Juan Pineda, according to Martha Alegria Reichmann, the widow of a former Honduras ambassador to the Holy See for 22 years.

Reichmann told ncregister.com (May 23) that Tegucigalpa archdiocese is “governed by terror towards anyone who dares to question the Cardinal’s bad decisions or, even more dangerously, to rub up against the auxiliary”. read more

Archbishop Chaput: German intercommunion proposal threatens Church unity; Cardinal Marx is inserting a “lie”

Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput has criticised Munich Cardinal Marx and his allies who intend to “allow” Protestant Communion.

Chaput writes on FirstThings.com (May 23) that it is “a lie” to “insert a falsehood into the most solemn moment of one’s encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist”.

Protestant Communion says “‘I am in communion with this community,’ when one is demonstrably not in communion with that community.” read more
