American Exorcist: Sin Has Increased Since Vatican II

[Nonetheless, “Where sin abounded, grace did more abound” (Romans 5:20) – AQ moderator Tom] – 2/27/18

Demonic activity increases when confession lines grow short, Father John Esseff, an exorcist for over 40 years in Scranton diocese, told (February 23).

According to Esseff sins have increased since Vatican II because of the decline in the sacrament of reconciliation, “This has been true all over the world where the Church has declined.”

He adds, that the more there are confessions, “the less we will have demonic activity.”

  1. Yep. One solid confession is worth 1000 deliverance rites.
Absolution confers Sanctifying Grace. Even the most spectacular full exorcism is but a sacramental.

  2. Anywhere from 80-90% of progressive modernists pushing the Spirit of Vatican II agenda are homos. It’s not like someone can just pick up a phone and call any priest from the local Vatican II modernist parish and expect to find a Catholic who even believes demonic phenomena are real. This is a SERIOUS problem. If you don’t have Catholic colleges and high schools which teach the orthodox Catholic faith, the number of potential priests goes way down. It is an educational problem. If the bishops care about the souls in their charge they need to get serious about protecting and defending Catholic identity at Catholic colleges and high schools. This is why Land O’Lakes is such a disaster for the Church. When you stop teaching the true Catholic faith and there are fewer orthodox Catholics, demons start showing up.
