Twice Wrong

Twice Wrong

Gloria.TV News – 1/31/18

The CNBC interviewed the Prefect of the Dicastery for Integral Human Development, Cardinal Peter Turkson, asking him about Pope Francis’ message to the World Economic Forum 2018 in Davos, Switzerland. At a certain point, Turkson was confronted with the question about what went wrong with capitalism since it did not benefit everybody. In his answer the cardinal referred to the year 1892 when – quote — “Pope Leo the Great”-wrote a circular about —quote —”the new towns”. Apparently Turkson wanted to refer to the encyclical Rerum Novarum which Leo XIII wrote in 1891. Pope Leo the Great died in 461.
