More ‘straight’ adults responded that they were ‘very’ or ‘somewhat’ uncomfortable around LGBTQUEER people in select scenarios; pro-sodomite groups blaming President Trump

DETROIT (ChurchMilitant) – A new poll is claiming acceptance of LGBT people by “non-LGBT” is the lowest in four years, and it’s all President Trump’s fault.

A poll sponsored by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is claiming people are less trusting of LGBT people in certain situations.

The report, titled “Accelerating Acceptance,” has been released yearly by GLAAD since 2014 and claims to “measure American attitudes” towards LGBT issues.

Claiming that awareness and acceptance of LGBT issues have been increasing since 2014, it asserts, “This year, the acceptance pendulum abruptly stopped and swung in the opposite direction,” adding, “More non-LGBTQ adults responded that they were ‘very’ or ‘somewhat’ uncomfortable around LGBTQ people in select scenarios.”

It asserts the highest rates of “non-LGBT” people reporting being uncomfortable learning a family member, doctor or child’s teacher is LGBT, blaming “heightened rhetoric toward marginalized communities to the forefront of American culture.”

The report assigns blame to Trump’s attempt to disallow so-called transgenders from joining the U.S. military and the confirmation of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, despite his attendance at a pro-LGBT Episcopal church.

It also claims, “LGBTQ visibility slipped in news and entertainment media – Americans can no longer see LGBTQ stories that change hearts and minds with the same frequency.”

The 2017 edition of Accelerating Acceptance claimed “acceptance of LGBTQ people has reached historic levels, particularly among Millennials,” adding, “young people are now more likely to openly identify as LGBTQ while also rejecting traditional labels and seeing the world in terms that are beyond a binary.”

The report concludes that “LGBTQ people and allies” will “continue the forward march towards 100 percent acceptance around the world.”
