“Conservative” Nebraska bishop offers to lift excommunication for Call to Action members

[Will Bishop Conley make a similar offer to members and sympathizers of the Society of St. Pius X? Bishop Bruskewitz also excommunicated them at the same time to show that he was being “fair and balanced” in his treatment of extremists on both sides. Catholic World News – 1/17/18

Bishop James Conley of Lincoln, Nebraska, has offered to lift the excommunication of members of the radical group Call to Action, on an individual basis, provided that they “reaffirm their commitment to the full teachings of the Catholic Church [but could] remain in the organization [by professing] the Nicene Creed and the Easter Vigil affirmation of faith.” The group’s members were excommunicated by the previous head of the Lincoln diocese, Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz, because of their public rejection of Church teachings.

  1. Before Francis is allowed back into the Church he will have to profess the Nicene Creed and the antimodernist oath. And he will need the SSPX to administer it, since few bishops in the mainstream adhere to them.

  2. Where is old “polka-Mass” Brusky these days?
