Well, besides the fact that January 1 is more than the beginning of a new year in the secular calendar – Sunday within the Octave of Christmas, Feast of the Circumcision of Jesus, Solemnity of Mary. the Mother of God, I can indeed wish all of you a Happy New Year in recognition of these Feasts. But this post deals with the question of whether we can celebrate a new year in this the day of the “Novus Ordo” which, of course, means “New Order” – the consequences of which, unhappily, are with us to this day. However, we can celebrate the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus in the liturgical calendar.

Vatican II of unhappy memory unleashed a torrent of liberal, progressive and frankly modernistic heresies in our beloved Church starting with the papacy and flowing on down to dioceses throughout the country and the world. Anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear cannot doubt what is happening around us. The Abomination of Desolation is present in of all places – the so-called Nativity Scene on the steps of St. Peters Basilica in Rome. The man who has assumed the Chair of Peter is apparently unable or unwilling to do anything about it and the hierarchy remains silent about the abuses in the Church we love. These are indeed dark days in the history of the Church and many of us have sought out the catacombs to practice our Faith – those relatively few places where Tradition is honored and fence-sitters avoid.

What do I mean by fence-sitters? They are those who honor Tradition but who continue to adhere to the “novus ordo” because their bishop says it’s the right thing to do – this despite the Ottaviani Intervention and the prideful statement of Pope John XXIII who said the Third Secret of Fatima was not for our times and thus relegated the words of the Holy Mother of God to the trash bin of history. What more masonic evidence does one need to judge what is going on as nothing more than Man substituting his conscience to that of God, expressed in the 2,000 year old Magisterium of the Church and the holy saints and popes of Tradition.

So, Yes, Have a Happy New Year in the recognition that all the abuses and heresies will not stand and will be wiped away with the Second Coming of of Our Lord and Savior. God bless you.
