English archbishop: in Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis ‘has not in any way changed the teaching of the Church’

[The weasel words are “changed the teaching,” but Amoris Laetitia’s infamous paragraph 305 and footnote 351 (under the rubric of “pastoral – not doctrinal – change in discipline – not teaching”) justifies Communion for a sexually active couple at least one of whom is a remarried divorcee without an annulment, thus contradicting teaching from JP2’s 1974 Familiaris Consortio all the way back to the Sixth of the God-given Ten Commandments: Thou shalt not commit adultery]

Catholic World News – 12/1/17

[Parroting similar statements in April 2016 by English Cardinal Primate Vincent Nichols and Portsmouth Bishop Philip Egan] Archbishop Peter Smith of Southwark made his remarks at a press conference during the recent meeting of the English and Welsh bishops.
