Fake News on Pope Francis

The known Italian commentator Vittorio Sgarbi wrote in Il Giorno that Pope Francis said last Sunday that The Quran and the Bible were both written by the Apostles. This news has caused a big uproar in Italy. There is, however, no evidence that Francis has ever said this.

The Italian anti-Church journalist Eugenio Scalfari, an atheist who has a close relationship with Pope Francis, claimed that Francis has abolished hell. On October 9, he wrote on La Repubblica that Pope Francis believes that the souls dominated by evil who do not repent do not go to hell but simply stop existing after death. This would be the position of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
