Archbishop Geremias Steinmetz of Londrina, Brazil, postponed an event with pro-gay and pro-abortion speakers, scheduled on the campus of Catholic University of Paraná, to October 2nd.

The reason: An online petition against it reached more than 12,000 signatures.

The author of the petition was Catholic convert Bernardo Pires Küster. He also published a video against the controversial event on Facebook, but the video was censored and Küster’s profile suspended for 24 hours.

33 professors of the Catholic University signed a “note of support” for the pro-gay event.
