Vatican diplomat criticizes austerity policies, calls for a new ‘New Deal’ stimulus

[Warmed-over Keynesian “prime the pump” economics and Rooseveltian “tax and tax, spend and spend, elect and elect” politics, with some xenophobic-phobia rhetoric thrown in]

Catholic World News – September 15, 2017

Archbishop Silvano Tomasi suggested that world leaders should follow the example of President Franklin Roosevelt and the advice of economist John Maynard Keynes, using government spending to raise economic prospects. The archbishop who also criticized “xenophobic rhetoric,” made his remarks at a press conference in Geneva, Switzerland, at which a new UN trade and development report was presented.

Comment by Dr. Jeff Mirus: We shudder at those who claim simplicity in what is inherently complex. What about the wreckage caused by unbalanced inflationary budgets coupled with the Godless presumptions of the nanny State?

  1. Resolved! We’ll confiscate wealth from those who work for a living and hand it to bureaucrats, who will flush it down the toilet, and to banksters who will use it to buy stocks for free to pump up prices, and then skim the profits. In the meantime, guess who suffers.

    Stupid, morally bankrupt bishops!
