28/05/2017

(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis on Sunday celebrated the feast of the Ascension of Jesus to heaven, [traditionally] celebrated forty days after Easter [but now 43 days after] …

[He plans to do the same for the feast of Corpus Christi.]

  1. Repeat:
    Ascension SUNDAY
    Ascension SUNDAY
    Ascension SUNDAY
    2 + 2 ?

  2. Thursday is laundry day at the Harrington’s. Hear Audrey on the New Improved Ascension Sunday:
“What a relief! Now that Our Lord Ascended on Sunday, I’ll be able to get the laundry done. We’ll all look better at Mass for it!”

  3. Effectively making various Feasts no longer Holydays of Obligation? Why then just do that and leave them Celebrated on the appropriate days?

The whole liturgical structure has been rendered a nonsense, what on earth is Year X, Week yy in NOM world. All part of killing-off the Old Missals, in an attempt to make them redundat at a stroke. But it failed.

Don’t forget “Cycle Z” and “Ordinary Time.”
