Belgian Bishops Claim That [Sexually-Active] Remarried Divorcees Can Receive Communion

On Mai 24th, the Belgian bishops published a pastoral letter about the controversial document “Amoris Laetitia”. They write: “One cannot decree that all those [who are] divorced and remarried [as well as sexually active] can be admitted to communion. Nor can one decree that they are all excluded.” The bishops ask for “pastoral decisions” based on the consciences of each person.

They seem not to be aware of the fact, that those “pastoral decisions” have been made by the Church. Civilly remarried divorcees have access to the sacraments if they abstain from sexual intercourse. Otherwise they eat their own judgment when receiving Holy Communion unlawfully (1 Cor 11,28).
