Shooting outside Catholic Charities building in California; 3 dead

Catholic World News – April 20, 2017

Shouting “Allahu Akbar” [Allah is great], a man shot and killed three persons in Fresno on April 18. One of the shootings took place outside a Catholic Charities building.

The suspect has been identified as Kori Ali Muhammad, 39. Fresno’s police chief said that he was motivated by racial animus against persons who are white. The suspect, according to an Associated Press report, identified himself as a Muslim but said that he prays to seven different gods.*

“In less than two minutes, three lives were taken for no apparent reason beyond an incomprehensible depth of hatred carried in the heart of one man,” the Diocese of Fresno said in a statement. “Let us seize this moment as an opportunity to live as people of light not darkness by rejecting the temptation to hate the hater and embracing the gift of grace that opens hearts to choose love which conquers all evil.”

*AQ moderator Tom: Devils associated with Islam? Such as the moon-god that the young Mohammed selected from the 360 gods that he worshipped as a pagan:

It is clear, from a historical point of view, that Muhammad, as a youth participated in worshipping all the 360 pagan gods in the Kabah in Mecca which was owned and operated by the Quraish tribe to which Muhammad was member in good standing. As Muhammad grew up, he was influenced by Christians (monotheists) who condemned the polytheism at the Kabah. At some point in Muhammad’s life, he was convinced by the Christians that Polytheism was wrong and sought to reject the 360 pagan gods he had grown up with. Muhammad was converted to the concept of monotheism through the influence and teachings of Christians. Being a proud “nationalistic cultural Arab”, bent on preserving his traditions, Muhammad, decided to “reform” his native pagan religion, rather than adopt a completely different religion like Christianity. Muhammad took the top pagan god of the Kabah in Mecca (called Hubal and/or Allah) and chose it to be his new monotheistic god. This god was already considered the top god among other gods at the Kabah. Muhammad’s strategy was simple. Rather than converting all the Arab people to the monotheism of Christianity, Muhammad merely banished the other 359 pagan gods and chose the one remaining to be the one and only god… what Muslims refer to today as “Allah”.

Islam is the restoral of moon worship Abraham gave up when he left the Ur of Chaldees. Abraham left moon worship of Iraq for the one true God. His son Ishmael was cast out and went to Arabia where he continued to worship the moon God. The crescent moon atop every mosque is the symbol that Ishmael went back to the very moon worship that his father Abraham abandoned.

As well as the demon who appeared to Mohammed and called himself “Gabriel” to confuse him with the angel of that name and dictated the Koran to him.

The others are know in Islam as “djinn” (see Discovering the “Demons” of Islam: A Crash Course in Understanding the Djinn, From Multiple Perspectives).

  1. Robert Spencer in FrontPage: Muslim Screaming “Allahu Akbar” Murders Three In Fresno

APRIL 19, 2017 BY DEACON ROBERT SPENCER

As usual, authorities aren’t sure whether or not it’s terrorism. My latest in FrontPage:

    null

On Tuesday morning around 10:45AM, a Muslim named Kori Ali Muhammad walked through Fresno, California, shooting three men dead at random, including one in the parking lot of Catholic Charities. When he was arrested, he screamed “Allahu akbar.” According to the local ABC station, Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer “indicated it was ‘still too early’ to know if the shootings were an act of terrorism.”

Of course. And for those who refuse to acknowledge the nature or magnitude of the Islamic jihad against the West, it will always be too early, even if Kori Ali Muhammad presents Dyer with an ISIS membership card and a letter signed by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi commanding him to carry out this attack. In this case, the familiar dance of denial by non-Muslim authorities intent on absolving Islam of all responsibility for the crimes done in its name and in accord with its teachings is not the central lesson of the attack – that sad charade has played out all too often in the past, and will many more times in the future, and there is nothing new to say about it.

The key story in the murders committed by Kori Ali Muhammad is that they constitute a jihad attack carried out by an apparent member of the Nation of Islam, the racist black supremacist pseudo-Islamic group headed by Louis Farrakhan. According to the Los Angeles Times, “a Facebook profile page for a Kori Ali Muhammad from Fresno paid homage to black pride and black nationalism, with images of the red, green and black Pan-African flag and images of a raised fist. The page listed him as a ‘warrior’ for RBG Nation, referencing red, black and green.”

What’s more, “in recent days, he repeatedly posted images to his frenetic Facebook page with the hashtag #LETBLACKPEOPLEGO. He referenced ‘white devils’ and praised melanoma skin cancer. In a post Monday, he wrote in all caps: ‘MY KILL RATE INCREASES TREMENDOUSLY ON THE OTHER SIDE ASÈ ALLAH U AKBAR.’ Shortly before that, he posted: ‘BLACK WARRIORS MOUNT UP AND RIDE OUT *ASÈ* #LETBLACKPEOPLEGO.’” Ase, according to the Times, “is a term from the Yoruba people of Nigeria, referencing a concept that there is power in our spirituality, words and feelings.” Muhammad also referred to “white devils” and the Nation of Islam’s mythical evil figure who created white people, Mr. Yakub.

If Muhammad is indeed a member of the Nation of Islam, he demonstrates yet again how members of the Nation of Islam, even though orthodox Sunni and Shia Muslims consider the Nation a heretical sect, can identify with the global jihad, and place themselves in its service. The most notorious example of this is the Beltway Sniper, John Allen Muhammad, who along with his accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo, murdered seventeen people in sniper attacks in the Washington, D.C. area in October 2002. Muhammad had joined the Nation of Islam in 1987; Malvo was discovered to have kept notebooks in which he drew portraits of Osama bin Laden and other jihadis and declared his determination to wage jihad himself.

When Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan spoke at the Nation’s annual gathering in Detroit last February, attendees greeted him with thunderous cries of “Allahu akbar” and listened raptly as Farrakhan railed against not against the Nation’s bogey, white people, but against the Jews: “I want to disabuse the Jews today of the false claim that you are the chosen of God — that Israel or Palestine belongs to you. I want to disabuse you of that. I’m going to tell you about your future. You that think you have power to frighten and dominate the peoples of the world. I’m here to announce the end of your time.”

He has, of course, spoken this way many times before. That Farrakhan would so often use the platform of his racist cult to attack the Jews suggests that he is interested in currying favor with mainstream Muslims who are well aware of how deeply embedded anti-Semitism is in the Qur’an. Orthodox Islam does not blame the evils of the world on white people, but the Nation’s Jew-hatred is certainly mainstream Islam, and an indication of how the Nation is often a way station: African-American men convert to it and then pass from it into orthodox Sunni groups, or turn to jihad even without doing so. Kori Ali Muhammad is just the latest example of this.

If authorities ever decide that the random shooting of three non-Muslims by a Muslim screaming “Allahu akbar” might possibly be terrorism, they might begin investigations that would make all this clear to them and help them prevent it from happening in the future. But nothing seems much less likely.

  2. Police, Media Ignore Fresno Terrorist’s Muslim Ties

    by Derek Ganzhorn • ChurchMilitant • April 19, 2017

Police work to scrub any anti-Christian motive for the attack

FRESNO, Calif. – Police in California are covering up for Islamic terrorists.

A black suspect, Kori Ali Muhammad, allegedely shot and killed four white people from Monday night into Tuesday in Fresno. Muhammad killed his final victim outside the local branch of Catholic Charities. He was apprehended a block south of there, shouting “Allahu Akbar” — Arabic for “God is great” — as police took him down to the ground.

Given these facts, a connection to Islamic terrorism seems clear. But this is not the way Police Chief Jerry Dyer characterized the murders.

“We don’t believe it’s a terrorist act,” Dyer told reporters Tuesday. “We believe it’s a hate crime.”

Dyer said that Muhammad had sought to kill as many white people as possible but also said the shootings were random. “This is solely based on race,” he claimed.

Catholic Charities spokeswoman Teresa Dominguez told the Associated Press that the charity does not believe the suspect was tied to the nonprofit organization.

Before the attack, Muhammed made video statements that show his murders were inspired by Islam. A sample reads, “We will continue to bring destruction and wrath upon America until we establish a Kingdom.” His Facebook page, before being removed, contained content approving of the murder of Dallas police officers in 2016.

The police department’s attempt to obscure the connection to Islam is the latest example of Western governments’ track record of downplaying Muslim terror. Governments all over the West have dismissed connections to Islam and the growing hatred Islamists feel for Christianity.

Not only are police ignoring the attack’s connection to Islam, they are ignoring a possible attempt to attack Catholics.

Most likely, it was only happenstance that brought Muhammad towards Catholic Charities on his course to downtown Fresno.

According to the 2010 census, 47 percent of the Fresno population is Latino and 8 percent is black. A disproportionate percentage of these races fall below the poverty line, meaning the clientele of Catholic Charities is almost assuredly majority non-white. Additionally, the employees of the Fresno branch of Catholic Charities are almost all of Spanish descent.

But by characterizing the murders as being motivated only by race, officials can cover more easily any anti-Christian sentiment expressed by Muhammad.
