WASHINGTON – Two Catholics essential for Trump’s election, Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway, are being neutralized by Ivanka Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner.

Steve Bannon, the president’s chief strategist, was removed from the National Security Counsel one day before President Donald Trump called for the airstrike on Syria, a strike which was supported by senior advisor Jared Kushner and his allies.

Kushner, after narrowing Kellyanne Conway’s role last month to dealing with veterans’ affairs and drug addictions, now has her answering to him on these very same issues. Kushner, a liberal Jew, has additionally elevated Chris Christie to a position above Conway on the same projects.

Several sources report that Bannon keeps a list of Trump’s campaign promises on his wall in the White House to keep the president focused on these promises. Catholics and conservatives are worried over what appears to be a diminishing influence of Bannon as Kushner’s portfolio expands dramatically.

Bannon’s waning influence, surrounding the disagreement he voiced over the missile strike on Syria, is buzzing in the media. The strike, says Bannon, is not in keeping with Trump’s promise to put “America First.” He reportedly has made it known that “we don’t belong there.” In other words, the U.S. has no business policing the world.

Trump acknowledged the deep disagreements on policy between Kushner and Trump and ordered them to “work this out.” The two reportedly met over the weekend to do just that. Some people are concerned that Bannon is telling people close to him that he “won’t quit” and that if “Trump wants him out, he’ll have to fire him.”

Conway, meanwhile, is having her own issues with Kushner, who last month limited her job description to dealing with veterans’ affairs and the opioid epidemic. He then took over these issues, having Conway answer to him on these projects and elevating Chris Christie to lead the drug addiction project.
