Please Pray for Marilyn, A Dying Hermitess

My friend Dave informed me tonight that she is dying.  I had never known of her before he called.

After years of being refused her vocation to be a hermit, she was consecrated as one on her death bed in the UpperPeninsula of Michigan through the immediate action taken by herBishop’s Vicar General once he learned of her circumstance.

May God reward him for his charity!

Please pray for her perseverance, now aided by the grace of her vow and her long-awaited reception into religious life.

Happy endings do come about for those specially chosen by God!

Thank you and I am humbled to pass this word along on the Feast of St John of the Cross, OCD, Doctor of the Church.

  1. “I saw the river which all souls must cross to reach heaven, and the name of the river was suffering. And I saw the boat which brings souls across the river, and the name of the boat was love.” -St. John of the Cross.
    May God be with her.

  2. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy clemency hear and answer me. Amen.

O Most Merciful Jesus, lover of souls, I pray Thee, by the agony of Thy most Sacred Heart, and by the sorrows of Thy Immaculate Mother, to wash in Thy Most Precious Blood, the sinners of the world who are now in their agony, and who will die today. Heart of Jesus, once in agony, have mercy on the dying. Amen.
