New Bergoglian Bishop of Tulsa Shuts Down Priestly Society of Exorcists

[From 1Peter5 Steve Skojec’s Twitter: “Fr. R(ippiger). has asked supporters to let him deal with this matter privately. Out of respect, I won’t cover it for now.”]

Edit: from Hirsch Files, Okie Traditionalist. He is shutting down the Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother, which has been operating in the diocese since it was established there in 2015 by the retired friend of Catholicism, Bishop Slattery.

From the Hirsch Files:

Remember how great and traditional everyone thought Bishop Slattery was? Well, he’s retired now, and been replaced by one of Pope Francis’ picks. A former college chaplain, Bishop Konderla is now the bishop of Tulsa.

Looking back upon my college experiences, I recall the university chaplains as having a superficial touch when it came to the depth of our Faith–which is to be expected, since on a university campus, you are surrounded by students blind to reality, living in an artificial world of unrealistic career hopes.

In any event, I’ve learned from some anonymous sources that this new bishop is likely going to be nothing like Bishop Slattery. Indeed, it seems that he is going to close up shop for the Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother, an exorcist society that includes Fr. Ripperger

  1. I’d be super, super cautious about this allegation.

I’m not saying it’s too incredible for belief but I ran across “Laramie Hirsch” before and would not personally recommend him as a reliable source for any important information on any topic..

He’s a nice guy but he’s literally all over the place and associates with the “resistance” clan. And even that band of hysterics go bonkers whenever dealing with Hirsch. Or at least they did a couple years back before I stopped going bonkers myself trying to reason with them.

Skojec does have a respectable reputation, however.

Wait and see. And since even ModRome backs expanded exorcist training, if this is true then the incoming bishop will be bucking even them.

Anyone who wants to contact Fr. Ripperger, for whom I have enormous respect, can google the list of clergy for the Diocese of Tulsa. His phone and email are listed.

  2. UPDATE FROM THE HIRSCH FILES: 11:00PM, 9-11-16

I am the progenitor of this news story. I broke it, and so the source of the news leads to me.

I have not been told by Fr. Ripperger, or other priest in the exorcism society, to take this news story down. However, I have been reading from other sources close to Father that he wants the laity to cease their chatter on this topic.

Rather than wait for them to contact me, I have elected to take the news story down. Please do not call the bishop to protest this action. Your prayers for this situation will be appreciated, I am sure.

Most importantly, and for the record, I MUST state that I am not a priest. I am not a priest from that society, nor am I close friends with any priest in the exorcist society. I am a layman in the diocese acting of his own accord when it comes to this blog.

  3. UPDATE FROM THE OKIE TRADITIONALIST:

My post and the Online Discussion today that followed in fact confirmed the horrible truth–the new Bishop of Tulsa and the Diocese are unfortunately shutting down the Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother, a Latin Mass Society of Exorcist Priests.

However, the fact that so many people viewed and discussed my post in the last 10 hours confirms to me the awesome silver-lining in this– that there are many, many Catholics in Tulsa and around the country who love Fr. Ripperger and his work, who are heart-wrenched at this sudden, sorrowful turn of events here in the Heartland.

Satan won a battle this last week in the Diocese of Tulsa, just as he won a battle last month in the public Satanic Black Mass sanctioned by the officials of Oklahoma City. But, we know by our Faith that in the end the Devil will lose the War.

And so I am following the lead of Laramie Hirsch at the Hirsch Files blog who tonight wrote “I have been reading from other sources close to Father that he wants the laity to cease their chatter on this topic…Rather than wait for them to contact me, I have elected to take the news story down. Please do not call the bishop to protest this action. Your prayers for this situation will be appreciated, I am sure.”

I believe we did a good and necessary thing exposing this, so that the Society will not be snuffed out without public awareness. To help defend the traditional Catholic Faith against the Modernist apostasy, especially in the Diocese of Tulsa.

And thus I wish all my blogging friends a GOOD NIGHT.

  4. Fr. Chad Ripperger is no longer listed in the directory of priests in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, diocese.

According to Bishop Kondela’s facebook (to which the above reporters of the apparent suppression of the Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother referred people to express their comments to the bishop), His Excellency is off to Rome for a 7-day orientation with 140 other new bishops on how to be a good Bergolian bishop. In view of the above, he could teach them a thing or two.

  5. Tom, it was listed just the other day – when I last looked at the diocesan website????

    • I re-checked and you’re right, Tom.

I posted the contact info on FB within the past several days.

Now I am beginning to wonder about the report. I was pretty skeptical but if Fr. Ripperger has been “disappeared” from the diocesan directory, that puts a new spin on things.

  6. If I can find time, I’ll try to contact FSSP HQ for North America.

Meantime, there is (or was) an upcoming retreat involving Fr. R’s organization. Here’s the link.

    • Fr. Ripperger appears no longer to be a member of the Fraternal Society of Saint Peter.

From an August 25, 2015, comment by piokolby to a post on aka.Catholic:

Fr. Chad Ripperger is no longer an active member of the FSSP that speaks volumes for those who know him. Fr. Chad Ripperger has gone deeper into new church and my prediction is that he will get burned for doing so. I could be wrong we will wait and see. I hope he does well. Bottom line Fr. Chad Ripperger is not with the FSSP anymore the way he once was.

Also, the latest (September 12, 2016) cached version of the Diocese of Tulsa website which lists Fr. Ripperger as a priest in (or of?) the diocese, does not include “F.S.S.P.” after his name, as it does for the Fraternity priest assigned to the diocesan parish for the Fraternity (whose website does not list Fr. Ripperger in its current or latest cached version). A search for Fr. Ripperger in the Fraternity’s North American website yields only two 2009 notices about him.

I presume that for some reason or other he left the Fraternity for the Diocese of Tulsa then under the traditional minded Bishop Slattery (who recently retired), thinking all would be safe – even under the bishop’s successor, whom Father believed that Bishop Slattery would have some say in the choice.
