Hillary Clinton Names Pro-Abortion Tim Kaine VP, Says He’s “Catholic” Who “Supports Abortion”

[What weirdo tickets for both parties: Not only wackos at the top but also strange-o “Catholics” for the second slot: A “roamin'” Evangelical Catholic for the GOP and a pro-abort “traditional” Catholic for the Dems!]

Abortion activist Hillary Clinton today tapped pro-abortion Virginia Senator Tim Kaine has her vice-presidential running mate.

The Virginia politician is on record as trying to have it both ways — saying he is both a “traditional Catholic” and a strong supporter of abortion. Kaine has a pro-abortion record and the potential Clinton running mate is not following anyone. As LifeNews previously reported, Kaine said he is a “strong supporter of Roe v. Wade” despite supposedly being a “traditional Catholic.”

“I have a traditional Catholic personal position, but I am very strongly supportive that women should make these decisions and government shouldn’t intrude,” Kaine said. “I’m a strong supporter of Roe v. Wade and women being able to make these decisions. In government, we have enough things to worry about. We don’t need to make people’s reproductive decisions for them.”

That wasn’t the first time Kaine has attempted to moderate his pro-abortion viewpoint. In an interview with Meet the Press, Tim Kaine, who may be chosen as the pro-abortion candidate’s VP, tried to mask his radical abortion views.

Leading pro-life groups know Kaine is pro-abortion.

“Like Hillary Clinton, Sen. Tim Kaine supports the current policy of abortion on demand,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Like Hillary Clinton, Sen. Kaine is so extreme on abortion he opposes even the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation to protect unborn children from abortion after 20 weeks, when they are capable of feeling excruciating pain during dismemberment or other late abortion methods.”

As a U.S. senator, Kaine has voted against the pro-life position every chance he got. Sen. Kaine voted to allow government funding of abortion providers, and he voted against legislation to require an abortionist to notify at least one parent before performing an abortion on a minor girl from another state.

Kaine took his most extreme pro-abortion action yet with his recent co-sponsorship of the so-called “Women’s Health Protection Act” (S.217), known to pro-lifers as the “Abortion Without Limits Until Birth Act.” This bill would nullify nearly all existing state and federal limitations on regulation of abortion, and prohibit states from enacting meaningful pro-life laws in the future. This revamped version of the long-stalled “Freedom of Choice Act” is a priority of the pro-abortion forces in Washington, D.C.

“Sen. Kaine is good at hiding behind his Catholic background – but no one should be fooled,” Tobias said. “His record, and his openly declared legislative goals, are as pro-abortion as they come.”

Kaine identifies as Roman Catholic and claimed that his beliefs align with the pro-life Church. Yet despite this account, he stated that it is up to the individual to judge the morals involved in abortion.

“I have a personal feeling about abortion, but the right rule for government is to let women make their own decisions,” Kaine said.

He continued: “So for example, Monday, the Supreme Court’s likely to decide a really important case about abortion rights. Which is many states including Virginia have tried to basically take out the constitutional right that gives women the ability to choose by putting these onerous regulations on clinics, health clinics where abortions are provided. We fought those off in Virginia when I was governor because you have to let people make their own moral judgments.”

Kaine is a longtime abortion advocate who has sought to appear moderate on abortion. But he was pro-abortion enough for Democrats for Life to yank its endorsement of him. His spokesman and website are now identifying him as a pro-choice Democrat.

Kaine says on his own web site that he doesn’t want to put any limits on the Roe v. Wade decision that allowed virtually unlimited abortions throughout pregnancy for any reason and has resulted in 55 million abortions.

“I strongly support the right of women to make their own health and reproductive decisions and, for that reason, will oppose efforts to weaken or subvert the basic holding of Roe v. Wade,” Kaine says, adding that he doesn’t support “criminalizing women’s reproductive decisions.”

“Tim Kaine will do nothing more than rubberstamp President Obama’s expanding abortion agenda,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List in 2012 when Kaine was running for the Senate.

Kaine avoided directly giving his stance on abortion, in order to appear more conservative. However, his refusal to defend life in his political career tells the voters that Kaine supports abortion.

  1. Another “Biden/Pelosi catholic”

  2. An ex-Catholic and a liberal fake one?
Who would you rather have packing the Supreme Court?

Quote: “I have a personal feeling about abortion, but the right rule for government is to let women make their own decisions,” Kaine said.

Sad. Hey, Tim, the Church’s teaching on abortion is not a feeling. Entire books have been written on this. While they might find it amusing at Harvard Law School to hand dumb-ass liberal Catholics diplomas, you should have learned this at Rockhurst High School in a Catholic high school Religion class.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotivism

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/After_Virtue

Is it just a coincidence that the last two VP picks by the Dems are dumb-ass liberal Catholics who can’t explain the Catholic teaching on the sanctity of life and abortion? What a disgrace. Rockhurst High School should ask for their diploma back.

The Spirit of Vatican II strikes again!

  3. Last night on faux news Brett Baer called Kaine a “Pope Francis Catholic”
And how right he was (being Baer is one also).
He meant it as a compliment.
Who can forget Bergoglio saying that the Church is ‘obsessed’ with abortion, marriage and contraception?!
And who can forget Bergoglio saying that Catholics shouldn’t “breed like rabbits”?!
So now the lefties and phony Catholics like Biden, Kaine, Pelosi etc have a Bishop of Rome to quote to defend their heresies.
While upholding those important Catholic dogmas like speaking out against the use of air-conditioners, promoting open borders and wealth redistribution!
    Lord help us

  4. That term “Pope Francis Catholic”, uttered with some self-congratulation by pro-abortionists and apostate liberal Catholics, is sickening. It demonstrates just how depraved things have become in the progressive modernist circles of Vatican II ideology. With Biden, at least you have a brain-damaged moron who doesn’t know any better. A truly dumb-ass ignoramus who thinks the Church’s teaching on abortion is an utterly incomprehensible mystery of theology which no sane person could ever understand or agree with, let alone, impose by law on his fellow Americans, who, shucks, just can’t stand having children. Now comes along this new liberal modernist Bozo the Clown exuding self-righteous pride in pro-abortionism with goofy Peace Corps zeal, as a “Pope Francis Catholic”. That wacko progressive modernist from Argentina may be the worst thing that has ever happened to the Catholic Church in our lifetime. Next to Vatican II itself.

If the Bergoglio and Kaine apostasy is not in the Third Secret of Fatima as one of the apocalyptic chastisements, it should have been.

    • I agree with you 100% Howl.
Even JPII and Benedict publicly reaffirmed and upheld the Church’s teaching on abortion for the most part.
These heretical and apostate “catholics” knew (even though Rome and their local bishops never publicly upheld their latae sententiae excommunication) that they were at odds with the Pope and the Church on that issue.
Now, if you’re a liberal and an apostate Catholic like Baer, Pelosi Kaine etc you are a “Pope Francis Catholic”
Barring direct Divine intervention it will take centuries IMO for the modernist and heretical mess promulgated at Vatican II which has peaked with the election of this Jesuit nut-job from Argentina to be rectified.

  5. Kwai Chang: Master, who is greater, the Bergoglio or the creater of the Bergoglio?

Master Po: Ah, Grasshopper! The Bergoglio snatched the pebble from the dialectical Master’s Parkinson’s-disabled hand, did he not? Is he not One with him?

  6. Francis I is a “nut” only if we give him the benefit of doubt. I have no doubt he is very conscious of what he is doing. For “pastoral” reasons, he created a separation between Church Teachings and its application into reality. But if we question Francis’ sanity, it turns out that not Francis, but JPII and Pope Paul VI, and Pope Benedict XVI had lost marbles. Because in spite if everything, they had a good honest and holy heart. But these previous Popes did not study their bad policies to their logical conclusions. Every Religion has its own set of moral teachings. One teaches divorce. One teaches abortion. Another teaches homosexuality. Others teach all of them, or some combination of them. Ecumenism teaches all religions lead to goodness, and are in varying degrees guided by the Holy Spirit. So, the logical conclusion is that in varying degrees, all these religions’ teachings are inspired by Good, and their Teachings should be listened to, and not shut up in public. And that we should listen to them. So, logically, all the moral teachings of these false faiths are sacred, whose God becomes our conscience. Pope Francis is logical. The others were not.

Pro-Abortion Tim Kaine Is No ‘Pope Francis Catholic’

Hillary Clinton may have made a fatal strategic miscalculation in naming pro-abortion U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine as her running mate by sealing faithful, pro-life Catholics’ opposition to her ticket.

The Washington Post rushed to paint Kaine as a “Pope Francis Catholic,” suggesting that the Senator’s mastery of Spanish and pro-immigration stance somehow outweigh the fact that he supports legal abortion-on-demand, which Catholics understand to be the murder of an innocent human child.

In her bid to draw Catholics, Clinton crystallized her radical pro-abortion and pro-Planned Parenthood platform, confirming Catholics’ fears that their deepest-held moral beliefs would receive no hearing from the 2016 Democratic ticket.

Despite his lip service to being “personally opposed” to abortion, Kaine has faithfully toed the party line, consistently voting in favor of abortion rights on the Senate floor, a record that has won him a 100% approval rating from Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider. Kaine has declared himself to be a “strong supporter of Roe v. Wade,” the 1973 Supreme Court ruling that made abortion-on-demand the law of the land.

Planned Parenthood has blasted Pope Francis for his staunch pro-life message, accusing the Pope of hampering “women’s health” and taking “a back seat when it comes to reproductive health and women’s rights.”

Francis has indeed been a vocal opponent of the pro-abortion lobby, which he has compared to the Italian Mafia. He has also decried the lie “that supporting abortion somehow helps women,” calling it a “false compassion.”

In the course of his three-year pontificate, the Pope has driven home a pro-life message in address after address, calling abortion a “scourge” on society and insisting that “a just society recognizes the primacy of the right to life from conception to natural death.”

Building a common home for all men and women, Francis told the United Nations General Assembly last fall, means building on “the foundations of a right understanding of universal fraternity and respect for the sacredness of every human life,” which includes “the unborn.”

This “respect for the sacredness of every human life,” of every man and every woman, means defending “those considered disposable,” the Pope said.

In a press conference in February, Pope Francis said that abortion is “a crime” and an “absolute evil” not just because of religious objections, but because it is “evil in and of itself.”

  8. Küng Fu: Modernism the Legend Continues

Kwai Chang: But, Master, Pope Francis must be unaware that Jeffrey Sachs is a well-known Malthusian Illuminati neo-Gnostic nutjob who supports abortion and population control while promoting the fantasies of apocalyptic climate change hysteria, right?

Master Po: I’m sure that is it, Grasshopper. A South American high school chemistry teacher cannot be expected to know such things, even if he is a progressive modernist surrounded by equally deluded advisors.

Father Sarducci: Sure. I believe it. Sounds plausible. If Professor Buttiglione could only get to the Holy Father to explain it to him…

Kwai Chang: It is a shame that there is no one to read English-language newspaper articles to the Holy Father.

Master Po: Yes, indeed, Grasshopper. It is a shame that the Holy Father is missing what a fine season Alex Rodriguez is having even though the New York Yankees remain six and half games back in fourth place in the American League East.

Kwai Chang: Do you think it is primarily the hitting, the pitching, or perhaps some other aspect of the illusion of maya which keeps the Yankees stuck in this cycle of karma, Master?

Master Po: Of course, as with the allegorical race between the tortoise and the hare, we cannot know for certain, Grasshopper. Without consulting the Tao Te Ching of Laozi, one can never be too prepared for reunion with the Primordial, but in the flow of effortless action it is always good to keep one’s eye on the ball…

Hans Küng: I would like to address that….

  9. Master Po: The endless Wheel of Karma is something we must ponder, Grasshopper.

Kwai Chang: But, Master, when the liberal opponents of Kate’s Law wish to convene a kangaroo court to file deportation charges against Melania Trump for plagiarizing from an affirmative action Harvard Law graduate who herself lifted passages from Marxist agitator Saul Alinsky who dedicated his manifesto book to Lucifer, reversing trends in their own legal positivism and Critical Legal Studies, is that a turn in the wheel of karma for which we should be prepared?

Master Po: Strange is it not, Grasshopper?
We must always be cautious of unusual authorial dedications, especially in Marxist manifesto treatises invoking demons.
In time, you will snatch the pebble from my hand.

Hans Küng: I would like to see the pebble and have a third party check it for buoyancy….

Father Mulcahy, S.J.: Oh, yes, Father Gannon and Father Walsh never would have approved of carnival tricks in formal education. Or dedications to Lucifer.
Of course, that was a different time before Vatican II and the Land O’Lakes conference agenda…

Father Fitzgibbon: Do you think you’re fast enough to snatch that pebble, Father?
Go ahead. See if you can snatch it from that blind heathen’s hand, boy.

  10. Just ask the question where Senator Kaine got the idea that Catholics are free to decide whether or not they accept the Church’s teaching on the sanctity of life and abortion. Where did he get that idea? Where did he get the idea that obscuring the gravity of the evil of abortion is something that is acceptable for a Catholic to do in their public statements? How has the USCCB’s policy on not denying Communion to such pro-abortion politicians increased the evil of pro-abortion liberal Catholics? How have the liberal queers pretending to be priests, like Notre Dame’s flamboyant modernist fruitcake president, who promote the idea that dissent on such teachings is acceptable in order to downplay the role of personal morality, helped to spread the evil of abortion?

Will any bishop of the USCCB publicly explain how Kaine’s spin on this is a moral error which prohibits worthy reception of Communion and, in fact, disqualifies him from claiming to be Catholic?

Just for the record, a person who denies the Catholic teaching on the sanctity of life and abortion is not a Catholic. They automatically incur excommunication latae sententiae whether it is formally pronounced by their bishop or not. This liberal is a former Catholic who has excommunicated himself by a public career of supporting and enabling abortion rights and by engaging in a political campaign to join the ticket of a pro-abortion presidential candidate. At the bare minimum, a Catholic public figure is expected to explain the Catholic teaching on the sanctity of life and abortion factually and accurately. It is the duty of that politician’s bishop and parish priest to explain the teaching to him if he has caused public scandal by misrepresenting or opposing the Catholic teaching on abortion in public statements. Since this is a national presidential election, it is the duty of every bishop (and every priest) to explain to the faithful that this pro-abortion politician is not a Catholic and that his position on the issue is evil. Since he seeks to lead others into the grave evil of supporting abortion in a national election, he should be excommunicated formally and publicly. If for no other reason, the Clinton-Kaine ticket should be defeated to prevent Notre Dame’s flamboyant liberal queer president from giving Kaine the Laetare Medal in another shameless ceremony at Notre Dame next year.

  11. Beaver: Gee, Wally, if Notre Dame’s liberal homo president gives Senator Kaine the Laetare Medal, does that mean that you and I will have to get married to each other?

Wally: Gee, Beav, I don’t know. Maybe you better ask Dad.

Beaver: Gee, Dad, you know how Notre Dame’s crazy liberal homo president might give Senator Kaine the Laetare Medal, being soft on pro-abortion politicians and all, like crazy liberal queer guys do, ’cause they don’t want Catholic moral theology to be focused on personal morality, well….
