Bishop Kevin Farrell of the Diocese of Dallas has publicly sinned and should make a public apology. Instead of denouncing homosexuality in the clergy, instead of denouncing the crime of abortion, instead of pointing out the evil of contraception, instead of preaching doctrine and opposing the scourge of heresy that is rampant in the Church – Farrell decides to launch an attack on Catholic bloggers.
So many, many great evils. Yet, what does Farrell decide to do? Ban Holy Communion in the hand? Issue a pastoral letter to the faithful on the sanctity of marriage? No, all Farrell can do is drag himself to his computer and type up a calumny entitled, “Spreading hate in the name of defending the Faith”, against a number of bloggers whom he has never met.
Notwithstanding, Farrell has decided he knows what is in these people’s hearts, and he calls them “haters”. Farrell, along with Thomas Rosica, CSB has evidently forgotten the words of advise of Pope Francis, “whom am I to judge”? But of course, Modernists are clericalists, Pharisees par excellence. Agree with them and they are all doves, disagree with them, point out their errors and heresies, and out come talons of hate and vitriol.
Farrell has committed calumny against Vox Cantoris, whom I know personally. I can assure readers that Vox Cantoris has love in his heart for Christ and His Church. Is Farrell aware that Thomas Rosica extolled the arch-heretic Gregory Baum on Salt and Light TV? One must ask how a person who praises an heretic can then speak about defending the Faith and conversion. No, Thomas Rosica is the last person who should be speaking about “conversion” in his sad tirade.
As to Farrell, his calumny is scandalous and sinful. He takes the word of a priest who threatened to sue a Catholic blogger for telling the truth and defending the Church. He takes the word of a priest who extolled an heretic.
Farrell owes the bloggers a public apology.
