Pope Invites Bernie to Speak at Vatican

[No similar invite to Hillary, The Donald or Lying Ted]

This just in from the NY Daily News: “Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is making a one-of-a-kind campaign stop — at the Vatican. The Vermont senator was invited out of the blue Friday by Pope Francis to speak at an April 15 church conference on social, economic and environmental issues.

“Sanders will then return to New York for the final days of campaigning before the April 19 primary.

“While a Jewish socialist from Brooklyn and an Argentine Catholic pontiff sounds like an odd couple, Sanders said the two shared similar views on many issues — particularly the economy and specifically the 1% of America’s wealthiest people.” READ MORE HERE

REMNANT COMMENT: Sanders describes himself as a “big, big fan of the pope,” and has reportedly invoked Pope Francis on the campaign trail. Pope Francis in return described avowed socialist Sanders as a “world leader.”

What’s it going to take, Neo-Catholics?

  1. Hey, what’s the big deal? It’s just one secular and worldly commie inviting another secular and worldly commie to promote the NWO and the revolution.
    How much longer Lord?

  2. IMO they deserve each other.

Vatican City – Reports that U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders has been invited to the Vatican by Pope Francis to deliver a major address on economics and social justice before the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences just days before the New York Primary have led to confusion along the campaign trail and charges of political exploitation by Hillary Clinton’s campaign staff. Vatican Spokesman Monsignor Antonio Borgia Pizzaronio, S.T.D., confirmed that Senator Sanders will indeed participate in panel discussions on economics at a conference of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.

Father Guido Sarducci, S.J., a professor of moral theology at the Gregorian University in Rome, commented that “everyone is excited about this ecumenical union of these two branches of modern Democratic socialism, uniting the secular progressives of the Frankfurt School contingent within the U.S. Democratic Party and the South American Liberation Theology wing of progressive modernism from Vatican II.”

“It will be quite dignified, ” Monsignor Pizzaronio said. “As part of the Holy Father’s outreach of ecumenical dialogue in the Spirit of Vatican II, after the conference, Senator Sanders will circumcise Pope Francis in a special ceremony that will be carried live on the Vatican Cable Network. A limited edition commemorative papal coffee mug constructed from recycled clay will be available through the Vatican Gift Shop. This Pope is willing to go the extra mile for his gradualism approach in the evangelization of culture.”

    • The circumcision will initiate a new custom to complement the washing of migrants’ feet on Maundy Thursday. Sanders was enthusiastic until he recalled how the pope kissed the feet he washed. Monsignor Pizzaronio assured Bernie that kissing was optional, although he should be accommodating of others’ views on the ceremony.

  4. Jesuit theologian to host panel discussions on Senator Sanders’ economic address at Rome’s Gregorian University

Vatican City – U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders’ economic address to the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences will be the focus of a special theological seminar at the Gregorian University in Rome. When asked whether this marks a new phase in ecumenical dialogue for the Spirit of Vatican II, Father Guido Sarducci, S.J., said “we will be having general theological discussions on the new direction for Vatican II. The Society of Jesus has invited representatives from Opus Dei and the USCCB to participate in panel discussions on the Pope’s outreach to Senator Sanders just before the New York primary at the Gregorian University in Rome. While Senator Sanders performs the Pope’s circumcision, he will be asked questions on John Rawls’ theory of justice by a team of Opus Dei professors from Harvard and Princeton University. This is part of the “big tent” approach to the evangelization of culture that Pope Francis and Bishop Sorondo have been planning for some time. We expect the exchanges to be lively and informative. But just to keep things honest, Father Sarducci continued, “we are also including a few surprise panelists who will ask questions about the Laffer Curve, the Gold Standard, Keynesian economics, the devaluation of the yen, the gold-backed IRA market, the International Monetary Fund, European economic integration, and the real estate bubble.”

“But it’s not all just academic, ” Father Sarducci commented, “you see, for Pope Francis and Bishop Sorondo, by crashing the American economy with Big Government socialism under a tax-and-spend Sanders presidency, the danger of climate change and global warming can be reduced to a more manageable and sustainable level where everyone can enjoy the simplicity and purity of a peasant lifestyle without air conditioners. Of course, this is the theory of a high school chemistry teacher from Buenos Aires….”
