Vatican newspaper publishes arguments for allowing women to preach at Mass

Hat-tip to gpmtrad: John Vennari commented “Here we go….” [despite St. Paul’s admonition “I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to use authority over the man” (1 Timothy 2:12)]

The Vatican newspaper has published essays suggesting that women should be allowed to preach at Mass.

Under existing canon law, only priests and deacons are authorized to preach at Mass. But in a special section of L’Osservatore Romano dedicated to women’s role in the Church, three writers call for a re-examination of that policy.

“This topic is a delicate one,” acknowledges Enzo Bianchi, the founder and head of the Bose ecumenical community; “but I believe it is urgent that we address it.” He says that allowing women to preach would be “a fundamental change in their participation in Church life.”

Sister Catherine Aubin, a Dominican theologian, adds an observation that women have been effective evangelists throughout the history of the Church, and today are regularly invited to lead spiritual retreats. Sister Madeleine Fredell remarks that she is allowed to preach in Lutheran churches, and says, “I believe that listening to the voice of women at the time of the homily would enrich our Catholic worship.”

  1. Then do Catholics a favor, “sister”: come out of the closet and declare yourself what you are: a protestant.

When the days comes that Nancy Pelosi and Sister Madeleine are regularly given the Sunday pulpit to flex their testosterone and estrogen-challenged rage at the congregation, the Novus Ordo experiment of the Spirit of Vatican II will officially come to an end as any kind of marketable commodity. The emasculation that goes on in modernist Catholic institutions is already driving men away. We have had enough problems with the estrogen-challenged modernist nuns running grade schools. This is a REALLY bad idea. Only really crazy queers with a taste for butch rage as burlesque would think this up as an advisable next direction for the Novus Ordo revolution. God help us….

    However…

Low-estrogen menopausal rage in the Novus Ordo pulpit will finish off many parishes. It will clear out the pews.

This is such a BAD idea it could only come from people completely unfamiliar with modernist Catholic culture in the U.S. or those who seek the destruction of the Catholic Church.

  4. One thing I can assure readers is that women will never preach or occupy positions in the sanctuary at our Chapel not because of any predilection for male superiority but out of respect for Holy Tradition. There’s enough gender-bending in society at large without allowing it to infect the Liturgy of Holy Mother Church.

  5. If only they would follow the example of Our Lady, the Mother of God.

  6. I attend the fssp parish and I really love it there. It is just like I had it when I joined the church in 1963. I certainly did not expect all these witches to come out of the closet and war with the church. I will never attend a liberal parish no matter what. There are now many more choices one can go to with the approved tridentine groups or eastern rite Catholic parishes that you can avoid the weird stuff. I would not put up with any of this stuff for one minute nor would I give money to it. There is a marvelous order in Covington, Kentucky that has just bought a church for the old rite. Fr. Shannon is the pastor and he gave a mission to our parish this week and it was a marvelous experience. I think the order is called The Missionaries of St. John the Baptist. If I were in that area, I would go there. That priest is as solid as a rock and that is what we need in the church.
