Pope Adrian VI: “…many Roman pontiffs were heretics”

“If by the Roman Church you mean its head or pontiff, it is beyond question that he can err even in matters touching the faith. He does this when he **teaches heresy** by his own judgement or decretal. In truth, many Roman pontiffs were heretics. The last of them was Pope John XXII († 1334).” Pope Adrian VI. (Quaest. in IV Sent.; quoted in Viollet, Papal Infallibility and the Syllabus, 1908).

  1. It has been said by a confidant of Pope Francis that he thinks the Pope is going to authorise the reception of Holy Communion by divorced and remarried Catholics.

    I have a simple question.

What will the neo cons, pseudo Traditionalists, so called conservatives, Michael Voris, Mark Shean, Catholic Answers etc etc do, when this Pope tries to legalise adultery, in direct contradiction to the teaching and command of Our Blessed Lord?

  2. They will make excuses and condemn the SSPX, same as they always do.
