Not a Joke: Pope Francis to Release Pop Rock Album in November

by ChurchPOP Editor

Pope Francis is releasing a pop rock album featuring snippets of his preaching mixed with music. It’s called “Pope Francis: Wake Up!” and will be released on November 27th.

If you have doubts, this is being reported by the Associated Press and Rolling Stone, among others, and you can already pre-order it on iTunes.

You even listen to the first single from the album, “Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward!”:

Apparently with full approval of the Vatican, the album is being released by the label Believe Digital, which has a website for the album. Some of the proceeds of the album will be donated to efforts to help refugees.

Regarding who is making the actual music, which is not being produced by Pope Francis, the only information I can find is that iTunes lists the artists as “Various Artists.”

Will you get the album when it comes out? Do you think this will be an effective way to spread the Gospel? Let us know in the comments!

  1. Perhaps the pope should get into twerking.

Twerking is in – the Latin Mass ain’t.
