Cardinal Robert Sarah: Such relationships ‘retrogressive for culture and civilisation’

Wed, Sep 30, 2015, 19:51

On the eve of the Synod on the Family, where questions of same-sex marriage will arise, a high-profile cardinal has said that “homosexual unions” are a problem not just for theCatholic Church, but for all of humanity.

In an interview with Italian daily La Repubblica, African cardinal Robert Sarah, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, called such relationships “retrogressive for culture and civilisation”.

“No non-western culture is moving in the direction of approving homosexual unions. No one in African culture looks on this with approval because this is a union that is not open to life,” he said. read more

Views of One Traditional Priest

We’ve heard from Bishop Fellay – now here’s one priest from the novus-ordo  establishment on what Pope Francis  is doing.  The only question remaining is: when will the cardinals who elected him do what must be done?  By posting this link I intend to show that we are not alone in protesting the actions of this Occupant of the Chair of Peter (OCP).

Swiss bishops confirm existence of Cardinal Danneels’ ‘mafia’ against Benedict XVI

September 29, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) — While correcting local media reports, the Swiss bishops today confirmed the existence of the so-called “mafia” of bishops that aimed to counter the influence of Cardinal Ratzinger during the pontificate of John Paul II.

The confirmation came amid intense discussion in Switzerland about the question of the now well-known group of cardinals, called the “St. Gallen Group,” about which Cardinal Godfried Danneels recently made some disturbing, even embarrassing revelations. read more

BREAKING! Mike Matt: God help us! They’re going for it all!

This just in from Crisis Magazine: Much has been written about the Pope’s humility, and he himself has often spoken about the need for humility. Yet it is possible to detect a certain amount of hubris in the positions he takes on political and scientific matters.

For example, it takes a certain level of hubris for a man to take a public stand on the threat of global warming when he has no background in the subject, and when the evidence for global warming is sketchy. READ HERE read more

Georgia Plans to Execute Kelly Gissendaner Despite Pope’s Plea

The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles denied clemency to Kelly Renee Gissendaner on Tuesday afternoon. As a result, Gissendaner, who was charged with convincing her boyfriend to kill her husband in 1998, will be executed at 7 p.m.

The execution is unusual, as Gissendaner did not carry out the crime, though she was involved. “Ms. Gissendaner, who was not present during the killing, got death while the actual killer got life. The State of Georgia has not executed a non-trigger person since the penalty was reinstated in 1976,” her lawyers wrote in the application for reconsideration of clemency. read more

In Bethlehem of Juda, the death of St. Jerome, priest and doctor of the Church. Excelling in all kinds of learning, he imitated the life of the most approved monks, and disposed of many monstrous heresies with the sword of his doctrine. Having at length reached a very advanced age, he rested in peace and was buried near the manger of our Lord. His body was afterwards transferred to Rome, and placed in the basilica of St. Mary Major. read more

In Congress and at a parish school, at the United Nations and a city jail, Pope Francis spent a whirlwind U.S. visit bridging the realms of the disadvantaged and elite, trying to turn the attention of the mightiest nation on earth away from ideological battles and toward a world he said desperately needs help.

From his very first appearance, he wove together issues that are rarely linked in American public life. read more

New AQ Private Messaging System

It’s way up at the top right on the toolbar; just mouse-over your screen name to get to it. Let me know on this thread what you think, or perhaps take the new system for a test run and use that to let me know. Thus far It seems much better designed and more user-friendly than the old system from what I can tell.

If we go with the new PM system, which seems likely, I’ll be removing the one we’ve been using, so if there’s anything in your inboxes you need (contact info, whatever) you may want to cut/paste it to a .doc and save on your local computer. read more

Our Lady Of The Holy Rosary novena Sept 28-Oct 6

O QUEEN of the most holy Rosary, in these times
of brazen impiety, show again thy power, with the
signs which accompanied thy victories of old, and from
the throne where thou art seated, dispensing pardon and
grace, in pity watch over the Church of thy Son, His
Vicar, and every order of the clergy and laity, suffering
in grievous warfare.
Hasten, O most powerful destroyer of heresy, hasten the hour of mercy,
seeing that the hour of judgment is daily challenged by innumerable offenses.
Obtain for me, the lowest of men, kneeling suppliant in thy presence,
the grace which may enable me to live a just life on earth,
and reign with the just in heaven,
whilst with the faithful throughout the world,
O Queen of the most holy Rosary, I salute thee and cry out:
Queen of the most holy Rosary, pray for us!
Mention your intentions…. read more

Another Speech at the UN

As I write this, Obama is giving a speech at the UN.  It closely resembles another speech given recently which I will not describe except to say that both speeches fail to recognize the Evil present in the world and the ultimate futility of humanism to deal with it.  The world, it seems to me, is simply not full of nice guys but evil men fully dedicated to implementing the rule of Satan rather than of God.  Undoubtedly, Obama will receive widespread applause when he finishes, like someone else of recent memory, but not from me. read more

On Mount Gargano, the commemoration of the blessed archangel Michael. This festival is kept in memory of the day when, under his invocation, there was consecrated a church, unpretending in its exterior, but endowed with celestial virtue.

In Thrace, the birthday of the holy martyrs Eutychius, Plautus, and Heracleas.

In Persia, the holy martyrs Dadas, a blood relative of King Sapor, Casdoa, his wife, and Gabdelas, his son. After being deprived of their dignities, and subjected to various torments, they were imprisoned for a long time and finally put to the sword. read more

Together they will lead a prominent conference on the environment with churchmen, scientists, and activists. The conference will exclude climate change doubters and moderates.

The Pope had walked back some of his comments on the economy which were anti-Capitalist but Klein says he got it right the first time – we need to overturn Capitalism. read more

Immigration group planned girl’s pope encounter for a year (Kodak moment was STAGED)

WASHINGTON (AP) — Sophie Cruz’s encounter with the pope during a parade in Washington this week looked to be one of those spontaneous, once-in-a-lifetime-moments Francis has become known for.

But for 5-year-old Sophie, the chance to wrap her arm around the pope’s neck as he offered a hug, kiss and a blessing unfolded as perfectly as it was scripted by members of a coalition of Los Angeles-based immigration rights groups. For nearly a year the group had been preparing the young girl from suburban Los Angeles to make a dash for the popemobile to deliver a message about the plight of immigrant parents living in the country illegally. read more
