Will Sarah Brady Be the Next Vatican Czarette?

[ Note: For whatever it’s worth, at least he did not mention sport hunting, per se, nor Remington, Winchester, etc. by name. So, he managed to avoid running afoul of St. Thomas Aquinas*, for the moment, and in this distinct instance alone. ]

* Summa, Prima pars, Q. 96: “Therefore it is in keeping with the order of nature, that man should be master over animals. Hence the Philosopher says (Polit. i, 5) that the hunting of wild animals is just and natural, because man thereby exercises a natural right.”

Pope says weapons manufacturers can’t call themselves Christian

TURIN, Italy (Reuters) – People who manufacture weapons or invest in weapons industries are hypocrites if they call themselves Christian, Pope Francis said on Sunday.

Francis issued his toughest condemnation to date of the weapons industry at a rally of thousands of young people at the end of the first day of his trip to the Italian city of Turin.

“If you trust only men you have lost,” he told the young people in a long, rambling talk about war, trust and politics after putting aside his prepared address.

“It makes me think of … people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit a distrust, doesn’t it?” he said to applause.

He also criticized those who invest in weapons industries, saying “duplicity is the currency of today … they say one thing and do another.”

Francis also built on comments he has made in the past about events during the first and second world wars.

He spoke of the “tragedy of the Shoah,” using the Hebrew term for the Holocaust.

“The great powers had the pictures of the railway lines that brought the trains to the concentration camps like Auschwitz to kill Jews, Christians, homosexuals, everybody. Why didn’t they bomb (the railway lines)?”

Discussing World War One, he spoke of “the great tragedy of Armenia” but did not use the word “genocide”.

Francis sparked a diplomatic row in April calling the massacre of up to 1.5 million Armenians 100 years ago “the first genocide of the 20th century,” prompting Turkey to recall its ambassador to the Vatican.

  1. Right on cue with Dear Leader POTUS. Uncanny how these two are sync’ed.

First, they came for the Jews, but I wasn’t a Jew … then they came for the pope, but I had no guns.

    • ^^^ Oh, prob’ly just a coincidence, y’know?

I mean, what else under heaven could those two possibly ever have in common?

      Except, of course, for…

… encouraging massive illegal immigration, or

      … destroying capitalism, or

      … advancing socialism, or

… tossing aside institutional constitutions in favor of a UN-run planet, or

… the imposition of queer rights on every facet of society, or

… supporting the feminazi agenda, or

… using huge airliners to take them on totally pointless mumbo-jumbo junkets, or

… telling pro-lifers to get over it, or

… the islamization of the entire West, ASAP (since indifferentism is now cool!), or

… possessing zero absolutely qualifications for the office they hold…

but, I mean, other than those points, name one other thing they could ever agree on.

  2. Disarm the Swiss Guard NOW!

It makes me think of a worldly, third world, commie, religious relativist, indifferentist and Malthusian Jesuit peasant who calls himself Christian who criticizes orthodox Catholics while taking advice from heretics, Marxists, and U.N. population control nut-jobs at the expense of the two-thousand year de-fide teachings of Our Lord and His Catholic Church.

That leads to a bit of distrust, doesn’t it Jorge? !

    PS
As I write this Jorge my AC is set at 65, it’s nice and cool, and perhaps I’ll go to the range today and do some plinking.

Que tengas un buen día Jorge.

Hey, Jorge, what about you? After all, you’re only a man.

  5. With ISIS in Lybia and Lybia being so close to Italy, His Foolishness, might want to make nice with the Arms Guys. Unless, he would like to have his Cone Hat on a stake, with his head underneath.

  6. Well, Francis do get a touch of gentle, down-home teasin’, now and again, on this here forum. An’ that set me ta’ thinkin’ that, jus’ mebbe, we oughta make it up to him somehow.

So, Ah got Caleb an’ Tatum on the horn las’ night, an’ they wuz a-tellin’ me that the boys already got a nice tribute a-comin’ up in October. It’s one o’ dem annual events, see?

An’ the mo’ they gabbed on, the mo’ Ah just plain liked the idee. Yep, Ah sez, Ah think that’s mos’ fittin’, ‘specially what wit’ dat Synod thingy bein’ the same month an’ all!

See y’all there, boys! (Fire in the hole!)
