Houston TX: homo mayor versus Christianity, possible imprisonment

The city of Houston has issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city’s first openly lesbian mayor. And those ministers who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court.

and

The subpoenas are just the latest twist in an ongoing saga over the Houston’s new non-discrimination ordinance. The law, among other things, would allow men to use the ladies room and vice versa. The city council approved the law in June.

So the decent people put a referendum on the ballot, which Houston threw out. The decent people then filed a lawsuit, and the homo mayor’s lawyers subpoenaed the sermons. Failure to comply could theoretically result in imprisonment for contempt of court – that sounds unlikely but we do live in a country where the freaks are in charge.

  1. In America, those who constantly claim to be “victims of discrimination” are favored and aided by government and thereby become the worst amoral, bigoted abusers in the land.

“City council members are supposed to be public servants, not ‘Big Brother’ overlords who will tolerate no dissent or challenge,” said ADF Senior Legal Counsel Erik Stanley. “In this case, they have embarked upon a witch hunt, and we are asking the court to put a stop to it.”

Critics dubbed the Houston law the “sexual predator protection act,” claiming that by designating transgender or gender-confused persons as a protected class, women and children are threatened by predators seeking to exploit the ordinance’s ambiguous language.
