Priest removes married gay couple from parish ministry

September 19, 2014 by Deacon Greg Kandra

On Aug. 6, four days after the Rev. Samuel Spiering arrived as the new administrator of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lewistown, he met with parishioner Paul Huff to ask him if he and his partner, Tom Wojtowick, had gotten married.

After Huff confirmed the fact, the priest asked to meet with the two men the next day. At that second meeting, Spiering dismissed the pair from their volunteer posts in the church and told them they could no longer receive Communion

Three cheers for the good Fr. Spiering!

The issue has caused some people to leave the parish

Good riddance. Have fun joining the Episcopervians.

Bishop Michael Warfel of the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings plans to meet with parishioners at the church Saturday night.

I wonder how that went.

[the two] would write a restoration statement, that in part, would support the concept of marriage between a man and a woman

the priest told him they would also have to set up a timeline for the two men to separate and divorce

Will have to remember these names. The homosexuals will very likely have been approached by outside radicals with offers of assistance in stirring up trouble. The good guys will now be targeted by the media, the government and the hierarchy.

Note: I learned of this story from perusing Fr. Nicholson’s twitter.

  1. “Church discusses gay parishoners”
    September 21, 2014

“No substantive changes have resulted from a meeting Saturday between Bishop Michael Warfel… and parishioners”

“The comments from the parishioners were probably 50 – 50″

” [ the two radical homos] Huff and Wojtowick must obtain a divorce, discontinue living together, and write a restoration statement defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman. Wojtowick and Huff have thus far declined to do so.”

“According to information provided by Wojtowick and Huff, as many as 40 parishioners have since left regular attendance” [ IOW, they are rabble rousing already. We can probably expect a media campaign from those two. ]

‘”Either I uphold what Catholic teachings are or, by ignoring or permitting it, I’m saying I disagree with what I’m ordained to uphold,” Warfel told the Gazette.’

Lord, protect the good Fr. Spiering (age 27) from the hippie prelates of the Catholic establishment.

  2. BILLINGS, Montana, April 30, 2009 ( – Bishop Michael Warfel of Montana has joined the chorus of U.S. bishops voicing opposition to the Notre Dame scandal with a scathing letter issued today to University President Fr. John Jenkins.

  3. Why was the sodomite music director hired in the first place is my question?
