Prayers, please. We are sitting right on top of a wildfire!

I ask for your prayers. We are sitting 1/2 hour driving time from a wildfire (300+ acres at last report) that cooked off a few hours ago. High winds and we are in the 90s today so this can go anywhere in minutes.

Our firefighters are on top of it but the winds make human efforts ineffective, in a heartbeat.

Thank you and God bless you for your charity.

  1. Gpmtrad,
Prayers for your safety and for all those affected by these fires.

  2. Thanks, St. Francis. Area now exceeds 700 acres, 5% contained.

I’m slightly optimistic that with overnight wind diminishment CALFIRE can get this puppy under better control by dawn. They are working it hard and without letup.

I’ve had heavy lifter rotorcraft going over my house all afternoon.

20,000 evacuated (precautionary) at last report.

Prayers for safety for you, your family and property.. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

  4. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy clemancy hear and answer me.

  5. Wow – it made local TV news here in Boston, the helicopters and all. May St. Florian intercede for you and all those in danger.

  6. Praying for your safety, and for those involved in fighting the fires. May they soon have them under control.

  7. Super Prayers along with air support tankers to get the fire under control!

Evacuation order lifted. No one injured and no homes lost.

CALFIRE and our local fire companies did a fantastic job and nailed this one as quickly as humanly possible.

The threats continue all over SoCal and there will be extreme vigilance over the area affected today since simmering hotspots will be a danger for days, perhaps weeks, to come.

We’ve had the hottest May, so far, since the Civil War and the Santa Ana winds can move in any direction at any time, accelerating the spread of a small fire into many areas with astonishing speed.

    Your prayers are deeply appreciated.

Here’s local news video which I post to pay tribute to some fantastic chopper piloting. It shows a fire chopper dumping directly on a major fireball and – whoosh! – out it goes!

Again, you guys are the best and I appreciate your concern, support and prayers!

  9. Just logging on and hearing about this. Glad you’re ok for now at least. I’ve a brother in Orange County (I think). My husband used to be a firefighter so I heard lots of stories when we lived in Flagstaff (AZ). Those Santa Anas are infamous.

Thank God it didn’t turn into one like the Rodeo-Chediski or the more recent one northern AZ has dealt with.

  10. You guys are great! I really appreciate it.
