Extraordinary Faith Series Promo

Regina Magazine takes you behind the scenes for this exciting project, in this exclusive interview with Executive Producer Alex Begin.

Q. At long last! What will ‘Extraordinary Faith’ be about?
A. It’s a new 30-minute television series for EWTN that showcases the beauty of classic Catholic sacred art, architecture, liturgy, and music.

Q. What role will the Traditional Latin Mass play in the series?
A. We’re emphasizing this historic form of Catholic worship, which has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years, especially among the young, and is a rich source of vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

ALEX BEGIN has independently produced and funded the new ‘Extraordinary Faith’ TV series which begins airing on EWTN on April 14, 2014.

Q. What is your aim in creating Extraordinary Faith?

A. This is an independently-produced and funded effort to introduce the world of Sacred Tradition to Catholics and non-Catholics who have little or no experience of it. It combines a rich visual travelogue format with human interest stories taken from burgeoning traditional Catholic communities around the world.

Q. Sounds interesting. What will you focus on?
A. Each episode of Extraordinary Faith will visit a different locale, to tour historic churches and interview clergy and laypeople behind the restoration of classic Catholicism. The program avoids heavy theology and seeks to show how Catholic tradition is relevant to modern life. To ensure that the message reverberates with contemporary audiences, we have committed to the highest possible production standards.  Eight episodes have been shot thus far.

  1. EWWWWW!TN PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT MEMO

SUBJECT: “THAT” Mass Special Presentation Schedule

Rabbi Griswold Abramowitz, our ecumenical relations advisor and staff technician has studied audience pattern statistics in order to assist our Production Department with a comprehensive overview of “most likely” viewer populations over a 24 hour span, based on content. This has been of great value as it has helped double audiences for our messianic Jew shows, tripled them for our newer animated “rapture” features during the past quarter and quadrupled them for our revival of older, recycled Medjugorje docu-dramas in which we edited in newer footage to portray messianic Jews and mega-church evangelicals being slain in the spirit in the hills of Bosnia-Herzogovina, presided over by Buddhist monks and Taoist priests sporting vestments bearing images of Bl. John Paul II the Totally Superduperist.

(MEMO to MARKETING: See if you can match those vestments in miniature and put them on our bobblehead dolls of J23 and JP2 in time for the roll out on the 27th of this month…)

Rabbi Abramowitz has assured us that the most effective time slots for the “THAT Mass” series will be between 2 and 4 am, Eastern when, he believes, virtually 98% of regular EWWWWW!TN viewers will be out cold. He also provided contingency planning advice for the series, in the event it attains what we most fear – popularity. In such a case, he has suggested that the entire 4 part series be run during the first half of the next Super Bowl or in the event of a resignation speech by Mr. Obama being broadcast live from the White House.
