Prayer Requested for the Soul of My Beloved, Late Wife, Patricia

Tomorrow (Tues., Oct. 22) is the fourth anniversary of Pattie’s death.

I plan to go up to Mission San Louis Rey in Oceanside. Pattie and I spent a wonderful afternoon there together on our first visit here, to see our daughter, back around ’02.

I have never forgotten the kindness of so many of you during those terrible days in ’09.

With deepest gratitude and assurance of my own prayers for you and yours,

Patrick

  1. Eternal rest grant unto Patricia, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace

  2. We beg You, Lord, in Your kindness to have pity on the soul of Your servant Patricia. Grant her now freed of this life’s dangers, a place of lasting safety. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. AMEN

Saints of God, come to Patricia’s aid!
Come to meet her angels of the Lord!
Receive her soul and present her to God the Most High.
    May Christ, who called you, take you to himself;
may angels lead you to Abraham’s side.
Give her eternal rest, O Lord,
and may your light shine on her for ever.
    All-powerful and merciful God,
we commend to you, Patricia, your servant.
    In your mercy and love,
blot out all the sins she has committed through human weakness.
In this world she has died: let her live with you for ever.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
    AMEN.
