[Jesuit] Marquette Hosts “Chronicles of the Closet” and Tweets Rainbow Flag
The Gender Sexuality Alliance at Marquette University (GSA) celebrated “LGBTQA diversity” on campus with an event called “Chronicles of the Closet” last week which is described on the university’s website as “an open-mic night for sharing coming-out stories.”
And in honor of National Coming Out Day on October 11, the university’s campus ministry, according to Badger Catholic, tweeted out this photo:
Marquette Warrior reported that tweet was later removed by the university and Mary Sue Callan-Farley, Director of the Campus ministry, explained that the Twitter post was put up by a student “who did not have full permission.”
The Cardinal Newman Society reported last year that Marquette University was the only Catholic university in the nation to be represented at a college fair “geared for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students”. The article said that the fair was organized by Campus Pride and attended by about 75 students.
