PROTECTING MUSLIM “FEELINGS”

Bill Donohue comments on the reaction to Muslim mob behavior in the wake of an anti-Muslim film:

It is hardly surprising to learn that many young Muslim men in the Middle East react like barbarians when insulted by a movie, but it is rather incredible to learn of the way the Obama administration initially reacted to the release of the anti-Muslim film.

The U.S. Embassy’s statement sounded more like something penned by Oprah than American diplomats. It said it “condemns efforts to offend individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.” (My italic.)

Just this week, I wrote a news release explaining why a special jury award was given to a movie at the Venice Film Festival: it shows a woman masturbating with a crucifix. I also issued another release on an upcoming series on FX that portrays a sadistic nun who beats mentally insane patients in an evil Catholic institution. This is what we do at the Catholic League: we are constantly drawing attention to the Catholic bashing that takes place in the arts, the entertainment industry, the media, and elsewhere. Yet no one in the Obama administration has ever expressed the slightest interest in condemning anti-Catholic fare.

Hollywood specializes in trashing Catholic “feelings,” yet we hear nothing about it from President Obama. That’s because he has too many friends there. Just last month, Harvey Weinstein, who has produced more anti-Catholic movies than anyone, held a $35,000-per-person dinner in his home for the president. In March, Bill Maher, who is the supreme Catholic basher, wrote a check to Obama’s superPAC for $1 million.

Yesterday, when Neil Cavuto on Fox News asked me how to make sense of all this, I said, “Hollywood respects Jews, fears Muslims and hates Catholics, as well as Evangelicals.”

The Feds have outed the alleged filmmaker. He’s Coptic and worried about his family in Egypt.

Good God! There is no longer any rule of law for Christians. Anywhere.

Muslims are of the Devil. Psalm 95: “The gods of nations are devils.”

I have to agree with McDee that Islam is weak, by reason of its protestantism. Weak historically and weak now. They are giving in to contraception.

I wonder if we could spend this time and space discussing what we Christians suffering also here in our own free-speech paradise (from the responses over at the link where the filmmaker is ‘outed’ that’s what we live in, and ain’t it great?) could do when the True God is mocked and defamed and when His just commandments are ignored to the point of murder the innocents? What should the Church be doing and saying, and what should we traditionalists be saying and doing? And what should SSPX be saying, as an organization with leadership thrust upon it, with regard to the false and heretical concept of religious liberty as it is used in this situation? Presently we all appear to be defending it, under some notion of,’ well it’s okay to defend the idea of religious liberty in places where we are in the minority, and persecuted’–that definition applies here, in the US, and arguably in Europe also. And yet we traditionalists are, on paper, for the Reign of Christ the King. We are against the idea of religious liberty, and the secularism that is its civic extension.

    Islam Weak? In what sense?

In Sydney, Australia, Islam is armed to the teeth. They have a social fabric in their enclaves and there is more than one enclave where the Mullah can excite the men and youths to any height.
Their religion may be weak but they will die and shed blood for it anyway.

As anti-American riots spread to Australia, Al Qaeda urged Muslims to step up protests and kill more U.S. diplomats in Muslim countries in response to the U.S.-made film which mocks the Prophet Mohammed.

The terror group made the appeal as riot police clashed with about 200 protesters at the U.S. Consulate in Sydney on Saturday as demonstrations against the anti-Islam film ‘Innocence of Muslims’ spread across the world.

An Al Qaeda statement said; ‘Whoever comes across America’s ambassadors or emissaries should follow the example of Omar al-Mukhtar’s descendants (Libyans), who killed the American ambassador,’ the group said, referring to Tuesday’s attack on the U.S. consulate in the Libyan city of Benghazi.

A protester holds a home made sign during a rally in Sydney’s central business district as anger over a film that insults the Prophet Mohammed spread to Australia on Saturday

‘The film published in America which insults our Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, comes as part of the continuing crusader wars against Islam,’ AQAP’s statement said, referring to European wars in the region some 1,000 years ago.

A total of six police officers were injured, including two who were taken to a hospital. Two protesters were treated for police dog bites and 17 others for the effects of pepper spray, police said in a statement. There were no details of their condition.

Eight people were arrested on charges including assaulting police and resisting arrest.

Police said they were unsure who organized the protest.

There was little or no organization or control of what they were doing, and their actions were disgraceful,’ police Superintendent Mark Walton said in a statement.
