[I]t remains each man’s duty to retain an understanding of the whole human person in which the values of intellect, will, conscience and fraternity are preeminent

It may sometimes seem to a couple of readers that we enjoy reporting these things: we do not, it pains our hearts deeply. We actually saw this when it was first posted, and hesitated about mentioning it, but today our friends at Fratres in Unum asked us to make it known around the world, and we could not refuse their request.

This is a regular Novus Ordo mass: it is nothing out of the ordinary, not even the use of a “stealth priestess” (that is, a vested female EMHC), or special guests in the sanctuary. Liturgically, that is, it is nothing out of the ordinary ordinariness of the ordinary rite almost everywhere: this is it; we know that there are a dozen or so new masses around the world celebrated in order to look like the Traditional Latin Mass, but they do not “herald” any change, alas, despite the fervent wishes of their promoters.

What makes this mass noteworthy, therefore, is the occasion: it is a memorial new mass for the “Day of the Freemason”, celebrated by Father Geraldo de Magela Silva, of the Diocese of Pesqueira (state of Pernambuco, Brazil), on August 20, 2012. Its images were actually posted in the Facebook page of a Masonic organization.

When contacted about it, the local bishop, José Luiz Ferreira Salles, CSsR, “excused himself and simply said that he … had just arrived from a trip.” [Source and tip: Fratres in Unum]

Isn’t the new head of the CDF a fan of South America’s “liberation theology”?
The Vatican, years ago, ordered Catholic leaders of South American Catholic nations ( 90 – 99% native Catholic ), nations which had Catholic consitutions that upheld the doctrine and morals of the Catholic Church as the law of the nation, and which recognized the Catholic Church as the official and only recognized Church in their particular nations that all of that had to stop.
Has Benoit XVI reversed any of that?
And whom has he appointed lately to carry out “discussions” with all the nasty, crusty integralistes so out of date that they actually believe that St. Pius X’s Oath Against Modernism even matters anymore?
And will the bishop of Cologne, Germany be hauled in on the papal carpet anytime soon?
Will Bp. Salles? Of course, with all those aprons to iron before the next “celebration”, he might have to put that off anyway….
Folks, I simply do not know how much has to be dropped on one’s head before it finally occurs to anyone still possesed of the fatuous notions of accord-ism that even were an “agreement” reached which allowed the SSPX full scope to critique and to preach mightily against the outright insanity which is now daily fare for Rome, who on God’s green earth would even pay attention to them?
You have Meisner and Mueller. You have these pictures from less than a week ago. And you still think there is the remotest possibility, were even the SSPX given carte blanche ( identical to Stalin inviting Josef Cardinal Mindszenty to join the Politburo ), it would result in anything substantial?
By grace alone from an unfathomably patient God, baptized Catholics who strive to do what they are supposed to can still – even under the pirated regime now running the ecclesiastical show in sunny Nova Roma – make it to heaven, ex opere operato.
But the question must be asked: Is that the heroic, divine and magnificent pathway to glory approved and desired by Christ? Or is it, in light of a mass apostasy, only now an escape route held open for those intelligent enough to be deeply frightened by the unthinkable becoming, day by day, the “new norm” under the conciliarist hijackers?
We’ve posted our thoughts on this from a masonic perspective at Seattle Masonic Blog queenannemasoniclodge.com/Seattle_Masons_Blog/Entries/2012/8/31_Catholic_Masons.html
Oh, how absolutely touching! Isn’t that nice, boy and girls? Gosh, thanks for “sharing!”
It is – remotely – possible you are “innocently” convinced that diabolically conceived Freemasonry and the Catholic Faith are “compatible”.
Then, again, you might want to add a bag of sugar to your gas tank in the equally “innocent” belief that it might help your mileage.
Of course, there is a name for such folks. They’re called “pedestrians.”
Your information on Catholics and Masonry are incorrect, the Vatican last issued a statement in 1983:
“Therefore, the Church’s negative judgment in regard to Masonic associations remains unchanged since their principles have always been considered irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church and, therefore, membership in them remains forbidden. The faithful, who enroll in Masonic associations are in a state of grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion.” Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger Declaration on Masonic Associations. Nov 26 1983
The “M” with the cross is from John Paul II’s papal coat of arms and stands for Mary (to whom he had great devotion) rather than what you suggest, which I think borders on blasphemy, if not crossing the line.
The photo is photoshopped. There are no other photos (i.e., from other angles) of the alleged event, which, if it occurred, would have been quite a photo-op with many photographers and pictures.
