San Francisco parish drops drag queens from fundraising event

CWN – August 09, 2012

San Francisco’s most notoriously “gay-friendly” Catholic parish has announced that drag queens will not be allowed at a fundraising event this year for the first time.

The policy change for Most Holy Redeemer parish comes shortly after the appointment of Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, and could mark a shift in the attitude that archdiocesan leaders will bring to bear on the parish. Drag queens had regularly participated in the fundraising event in previous years.
