The Cathedral of Santiago of Compostela was profaned this week by a lingerie modeling
show that took place right in front of the doors of the world renowned shrine.
The seventh Galicia Fashion Week is being held outdoors for the first time and organizers
decided the Cathedral would be the most appropriate venue.
Some Catholics passing by – when interviewed – said they believe the organizers are
provoking and mocking the Catholic Church.
The Cathedral is a beloved religious symbol… held dear by the faithful of the city
because of its ties to the apostle Saint James …who founded the city and is buried there.
The Archdiocese has not yet complained … but Spanish Catholics are expecting a
response later this week.
