Obama administration puts abortion politics above needs of oppressed women, analysts note
CWN – June 26, 2012
Writing in the New York Daily News, Steve Wagner and Kim Daniels explore the practical impact of the Obama administration’s decision to cut off federal funding for a program administered by the US bishops’ conference to help the victims of sexual trafficking. The problem is widespread, the authors report, and the victims are left in miserable conditions–simply because the administration insists on making abortion readily available. Wagner and Daniels observe:
When abortion or contraception is provided to trafficking victims who remain under the control of those who exploit them, it’s the trafficker who benefits, continuing to exploit his victim without interruption.

On the campaign trail in Durham, New Hampshire yesterday, pro-abortion President Barack Obama once again promoted the nation’s biggest abortion business. This time, he plugged Planned Parenthood in a speech to high school students.
Obama gave students a list of the reasons Americans should consider re-electing him for another four years and mentioned his support for Planned Parenthood, funding the abortion business with taxpayer dollars and forcing religious groups to subsidize birth control as reasons why.
“In this election, on every single challenge that we face, you’ve got the final say,” Obama told students at Oyster River High School in Durham, according to a CNS News report.
“You can decide that instead of restricting access to birth control or defunding Planned Parenthood, we should make sure that in this country, women control their own health care choices. That’s up to you,” Obama added
Last month, Obama promoted the abortion business in another speech on the campaign trail.
“We don’t need another political fight about ending a woman’s right to choose, or getting rid of Planned Parenthood or taking away affordable birth control. We don’t need that. I want women to control their own health choices, just like I want my daughters to have the same economic opportunities as my sons. We’re not turning back the clock. We’re not going back there.”
In California on Wednesday, the pro-abortion president said virtually the same thing:
“We don’t need another political fight about ending a woman’s right to choose, or getting rid of Planned Parenthood, or taking away access to affordable birth control,” Obama said. “I want women to control their own health care choices, just like I want my daughters to have the same opportunities as my sons. We’re not rolling back the clock.”
And in Denver on Wednesday, Obama repeated the campaign speech lines:
“We certainly don’t need another political fight about ending a woman’s right to choose, or get rid of Planned Parenthood, or taking away affordable birth control. I want women to control their own health choices, just like I want my daughters to have the same opportunities as your sons.”
