Will the various Catholic-Anglican ecumenical activities continue with Anglican representatives including bishopettes where now they are priestesses?
Church of England ready to ordain women as bishops?
CWN – May 23, 2012
The Church of England has taken a crucial step toward the ordination of women as bishops, according to a report in the London Daily Telegraph.
The bishops of the Church of England gave their endorsement to a new rule that would allow for female bishops, the Telegraph reports, at a meeting this week in York. The meeting was not open to the press, and no formal announcement has been made about its conclusions.
If the report is accurate, the proposal to ordain female bishops would be brought up at a meeting of the General Synod in July for a final decision. Approval of the move would cause another crisis for Anglican traditionalists, who have adamantly resisted the ordination of women as bishops.
